The UK Government has acquired the National Grid’s Electricity System Operator (ESO) and transferred it into public ownership. The newly named National Energy System Operator (NESO) aims to help deliver on the UK’s net zero targets, assist in connecting new renewable projects to the grid, and provide impartial expertise in the development of the future energy network.
