If we want to advance as a nation we must have a creative & innovative business sector. Government plays a large role in encouraging people to start their own businesses. We need to have young people give their ideas a go, however statistics show business owners are getting older. Increases in business start ups will benefit Government through higher tax revenues, lower unemployment and higher standards of living. #innovation #creativity https://lnkd.in/gX6D2hGv

I LOVE seeing statistics on Small Businesses in Australia. When we think of businesses we tend to think of the "big end of town" think large supermarkets or chain stores/franchises. But the reality is that it's small business that is the heartbeat of the Australian economy. This is especially true in regional areas. This link is to some very interesting 2024 statistics on Small Businesses. What I found fascinating is the proportion of micro-businesses - those with 1-4 employees - these make up a whopping 70%!!! So spare a thought for your local, independent small and micro businesses. Supporting them can make a huge difference, not just to the business but to the local economy and community. https://lnkd.in/dsKaeqX9 #WorkFromHome #RemoteWork #VirtualAssistant #OnlineBusinessManager #RegionalAustralia #BusinessAdminInsights #SmallBusinessLeadership #LinkedInNetworking

Here are some things I learned today about the profile of small business owners in the UK: Only 7500 UK businesses employ more than 200 people. That’s out of 5.6 million that are registered. That is 0.14% (approx) or 1.4 in every 1000. Meaning more than 998 of UK businesses employ less than 200 people. Another interesting statistic: 70% of UK businesses do not pay VAT. 👉Considering the VAT threshold currently stands at £90k, this indicates we are predominantly a nation of micro businesses who draw modest incomes from our entrepreneurial ventures. ❓What does this mean for you, if you offer services to businesses? Competition to advise established businesses is intense. You have to show up as more valuable and relevant than your competitors - or you’ll crash and burn. If you’re looking to help those sub £90k non VAT businesses, the pool is vast (in comparison) - but your problem will be that most owners are living hand to mouth and cannot afford to invest in their growth. There are answers, of course, to both these issues, so I’ve created a free report that explains exactly what you can do to avoid the comparison trap and succeed in your niche. 👇🏼 #consultants #businesscoaching #b2bsales #thesmartconnector

May marks Small Business Month in the United States, and according to a 2020 study by the U.S. Small Business Administration, there are nearly 32 million small businesses in the United States, [DM1] which account for over 99% of all businesses in the country [DM2] . Numbers like these further solidify that the entrepreneurs behind these businesses are the true backbone of the country, are a major pillar of our economic success, and continually elevate the American Dream. The first Small Business Month was celebrated in 1963 over the course of just a week when President John F. Kennedy signed a proclamation designating the first week of May as Small Business Week. The initial purpose was to recognize the important role that small businesses play in the American economy and to highlight the contributions of small business owners and entrepreneurs. As Small Business Week grew in popularity and importance it was expanded to a full month in 1983. [DM3] As an entrepreneurial business ourselves, the Beyond team fully understands the importance small businesses play in the economy. Over the years, our experienced and dedicated team has helped a diverse client base enter the alternative asset and real estate debt investment markets to further expand their wealth and drive American innovation and investment forward. #SmallBusinessMonth #SmallBusiness #CommericalRealEstate #CRE #RealEstateInvestment #BeyondLenders #BeyondWealth #BeyondInternational #PrivateCredit #AlternativeInvestments [DM1]Cited from: SMALL BUSINESS MONTH (nationaltoday.com) [DM2]Cited from: Celebrating Small Business Month - First Union Lending [DM3]Cited from: Celebrating Small Business Month - First Union Lending

As a member of the Prime Minister’s Business Council and the Department for Business and Trade Small Business Council, Informed Solutions’ Group CEO Elizabeth Vega OBE joined other Council members and the Cabinet Office’s SME Crown Representative Martin Traynor OBE at the Department for Business and Trade #SMEBusinessConnect conference on Monday, held at the Advanced Manufacturing Centre in Coventry. Business leaders heard Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, the Secretary of State for Business and Trade Kemi Badenoch, the Minister for Enterprise, Markets and Small Business Kevin Hollinrake, and the Secretary of State for Education Gillian Keegan, outlining an additional business support package aimed at stimulating economic growth across the UK’s city-regions, investment in training and up-skilling, and reduced regulatory burdens on small and medium sized businesses. It was clear from yesterday’s conference that Government is actively engaged with, listening to, and acting on the feedback provided by members of the Prime Minister’s Business Council, DBT’s Small Business Council and Cabinet Office’s SME Advisory Panel. Elizabeth was reassured by the additional business support package announced yesterday, saying “It demonstrates government’s commitment to actionable SME growth and economic stimulus measures that promote, energise, and sustain an entrepreneurial mindset and help improve productivity, increase investment in training and skilled job creation across the breadth of the UK’s city-region economies.” As a member of both Councils and the SME Advisory Board, Elizabeth believes that the UK needs a pipeline of great businesses: Businesses that challenge the existing marketplace and make it more diverse, competitive, resilient, and productive. Businesses that are aspirational, with a growth mindset, and that contribute economically through high-value jobs creation, commercialising innovative products and services, and increasing international trade. If we shape great policy that builds great businesses of all sizes (not only Big Business) then we also shape an economy that encourages and incentivises UK entrepreneurs, SMEs, and scale-up companies to build the successful mid-sized, large businesses and exporters of the future. Great policy that encourages SMEs to invest and grow will create skilled employment opportunities across local communities; business that more willingly adopt technology, and stronger more competitive industries across our nations and city-regions. Great businesses also tend to give back to the communities from which they grow. It is very encouraging to see Government deliver an additional package of reforms that support SMEs – committing investment to skills development, reducing regulatory burdens, and boosting support for women-led businesses so that the UK is the best place in the world for female founders and the scaling businesses they lead. #BusinessConnect #SME #HelpToGrow #ScaleUps #FemaleFounders
