Another interesting job search story.... got a call from a "recruiter" today. It seemed legitimate asked for my updated resume and fill out a template with some info. First red flag was asking for my drivers license (still possible for i9s) but when she told me what her name was it didn't match up with her accent. So I checked her on LinkedIn and found her name but she wasn't a recruiter at all. Last red flag was emails I got from the apparent "vendor". Same job, two emails from two different names and two different companies. SCAM!!!!! It's getting to the point where you can't trust any job opening any more on here. #jobsearch #scam #softwaredevelopment #techjobs #coding

Opinions on test projects in hiring? This topic seems to divide. I've spoken to a lot of job seekers lately who grumble about test projects they're asked to do during the interview/hiring process. As far as I can tell, a hiring company tends to assign these as "short" projects, but on the candidate side, they're long, time-intensive bothers. After the work is done, some job seekers get templatized emails knocking them out of the running, others hear nothing at all. So many feel like the company is getting free labor.
