Everyone you talk to is the most interesting person you'll ever meet, but only if you know how to ask the right questions. That’s the key to unearthing great ideas. The right questions lead to answers that actually matter and allow for purposeful action and next steps. It takes going beneath the surface and peeling back the layers of the onion. Great ideas are under there, and they can come from all areas of people’s lives. Here are a few prompts that can help you go deeper: -”What does your organization look like in a future where everything goes right? -“If you had unlimited resources, what initiatives would you undertake to transform your industry?” -“If you were to start your organization from scratch today, what key elements would you keep and what would you change?” -"What's the most memorable experience you've had recently?" -"What's something you're currently working on that excites you?" -"What's a challenge you've overcome that has shaped who you are today?" Asking good, thought provoking questions that make people pause, think, and push to dig deeper is the key to unearthing those gems that may be buried deep. My team loves finding those, pulling them out, and doing something with them for our clients.

Have you ever heard about the story of the "Five Monkeys Experiment"? 🐒 Link to the story: https://lnkd.in/d5T9DdJM Recently we discussed about change management and it really stuck with me. It’s a potent metaphor for our natural instinct to follow the crowd, and a stark reminder of how easy it is to fall into the trap of 'this is how we've always done it.' The experiment teaches us that sometimes, traditions hinder growth; sometimes, 'status quo' is the enemy of innovation. Just like the fifth monkey, we at Novonesis are learning to question the rationale behind our actions, to cultivate a mindset of curiosity, critical thinking, and openness. We're disrupting the status quo, not for the sake of being disruptive, but to create room for growth and innovation. This is something that I have been reflecting on when building out my new role - it’s good to ask yourself questions on whether tasks could be executed differently or better, sometimes even a simple change like local adaptation can make a difference. #ChangeManagement #Innovation #DisruptStatusQuo #NovonesisJourney

Crafting the Right Questions for Innovative Solutions 🤔 On Day 24 of our creativity and innovation series, we delve into a pivotal process: Formulating Challenges. Our goal in today's divergent phase of the step is to transform our understanding of our objectives into questions that open doors to creative solutions. Using "How might we..." or "In what ways might we..." as starters, we're encouraged to think broadly, fostering a mindset of opportunity and inclusiveness. This approach is about seeking answers and exploring the vast landscape of possibilities. For today's challenge, generate a diverse list of challenge questions related to your vision. Aim for variety and think expansively. How can rephrasing your challenge as a question lead to breakthrough innovations? Reflect on how this activity shifts your perspective and share your provocative questions. How have they prepared you for creative solution-finding? We're setting the stage for innovative thinking and solutions that might change the game by framing our challenges as inviting questions. Check out David Lunken's perspective on formulating challenge statements. #CreativeProblemSolving #FormulateChallenges #theLABteam

Around 7 months ago, my partners and I faced an unsettling reality: the quality of our work had plateaued. Now, to be fair, we had plateaued around the top 1% of our industry, but for us being in the top 1% of thousands isn't enough — we want to be the best at what we do. I gave my best motivational talk in a Partner's meeting and proposed how we could gain our momentum back. Afterward, one of my partners pulled me aside and said: "I loved everything you said, but I've heard it before and nothing's changed." He was right. We decided to get in a room together — first to vent, then to ideate. Amidst brainstorming, a seemingly "dumb idea" emerged: what if we dismantled our traditional org structure and pivoted to a flatter org? One where each partner was assigned to a project and teams were assembled not based on area of discipline, but by project. We decided to pilot the concept incognito. Without any formal rollout, my partner and I joined projects and tested out the interdisciplinary structure. The outcome? The best work we've ever accomplished. We've since rolled this out company-wide in what has been internally coined "VBT 2.0" with consistent and amazing results. And provided ourselves and the team, evidence of our unwavering commitment to evolve, push boundaries, and deliver unparalleled value to our clients and industry. "Dumb idea" is often a codeword for "different", "uncomfortable", or "new". Here's to embracing the seemingly "dumb ideas" because that is where walls are broken down, innovation is born, and the impossible becomes possible. 🚀✨ #Innovation #FlatOrganization #TeamEmpowerment

How Might We: The Question That Sparks Solutions🤔 Ever found yourself stuck on a problem, unsure of how to move forward? That’s where “How might we” comes in. It’s not just a question—it’s a mindset. By starting with "how might we," we shift our thinking from what’s wrong to what’s possible. Here’s why I love using it: ✨ It opens up collaboration: Instead of focusing on what can’t be done, HMW invites everyone to contribute ideas, no matter how wild. You never know where the next great solution will come from! ✨ It gets you thinking creatively: “How might we” turns roadblocks into opportunities. It’s all about seeing challenges as starting points for innovation. ✨ It breaks down big problems: Big issues can feel overwhelming, but HMW helps you take a step back, look at smaller parts, and tackle them one by one. Next time you're facing a challenge, try asking, “How might we?” You might be surprised by what you come up with! 😊 #Innovation #CreativeThinking #Teamwork #ProblemSolving
