I have gained a lot of knowledge in strategic management through dealing with issues arising in day-to-day management of business. In every position I held in the HR department, restaurant management, even as a client liaison, and educator, I understand the centrality of critical thinking when addressing matters, customer focus, and comprehending the value of teamwork. During my tenure as a General Manager at a restaurant I gained great skills in decision making when under pressure. This phenomenon can easily be applied to the HR since in this field there is a need to manage both the numbers and the people. Particularly, the experience in the capacity of an HR Recruiter and in client service positions highlighted the importance of focusing on the clients and the workers, and building strong, mutually beneficial relations through the consideration of people’s concerns. Decision-making requires some instinct, but it also involves analysis, which is a combination that I have gained through practice focusing on business applications and practical jobs. Another key lesson I have learned is the need for constant learning and the adaptability characteristic integral to any dynamic organizational environment We also realize that multitasking requires time management and priority setting skills especially while handling several responsibilities in a given organization. In my experience, these skills are the dynamic skills that can lead one to success in the real world no matter what the field.
