Own Nodes 🆚 RPS Providers 🤔Anyone who has built a Web3 product has probably faced this question. 🎯For me, the answer is clear: RPS providers. Here’s why: 💸Cost: RPS providers are generally cheaper. If you exceed your plan, all you need to do is select and pay for a new one. Scaling with your own nodes isn’t as easy. Plus, the cost of running one node with 20 RPS is similar to having access to 10 blockchains with the same RPS through a provider. 📈Stability: Own nodes can stop syncing, break down, or run out of disk space. This leads to restarts and resynchronizations, which can take days. And of course, you’ll need a DevOps team to handle all of this. With an RPS provider, you avoid these issues entirely. 🚀One Provider, Many Blockchains: Each blockchain’s node has its quirks, and they’re all different. If your Ethereum node goes down, you can’t simply switch to an Arbitrum node—you’d need to maintain at least two nodes for each blockchain. With an RPS provider, it’s all handled through a single plan. 🧭Yes, situations can vary, but in the early stages of a Web3 project, running your own nodes is the most inefficient use of infrastructure resources you can have. ♻️Which side are you on?
