How do you plan a way of working document that helps you decide, plan, manage tasks buffer, and schedule tasks according to priorities? Or how do you handle requests from software engineers to review or publish documentation? #TechnicalWriting

Hi Noheli, Our son has been getting emails from this scammer. Initially he was getting them from Jillian (I mentioned this to Jillian but did not hear any response from her). Today he got an email with your name instead. We all know this is a scam, and I only hope somehow the perpetrator gets caught and punished. In my opinion, these are the real terrorists and they should be caught and punished like one. Also, it looks like somehow data has been breached at DelRight that these crooks have all your email addresses. What they are asking for is scary. They sent two forms, one for Background verification (to get one's SSN) and another for direct deposit of salary (to get Bank information). Folks please don't fall for this. Don't know who sold DelRight information to someone for making money (Meta???, Google??, Twitter?, Instagram?, or LinkedIn itself). Kind regards. -Mohan Srinivasan
Hi all! If you've been contacted by a recruiter claiming to work for DelRicht regarding a medical or technical writing role (inclusive of being asked to do a writing assignment), this is unfortunately a scam. DelRicht does not do writing assignments, does not have this position opening (all positions are posted on our website!), and we will never hire a candidate without multiple face-to-face conversations. So sorry for the inconvenience!

All you need to kick start your career in Technical Writing is an inquisitive mind. I know I’d get the stick for this statement but hear me out. Asking the right questions is a key skill every Technical Writer (TW) must possess. You can’t do without this skill if you have very limited knowledge of the subject matter you’re hired to document. Experienced TWs have mastered the art of asking probing questions so much that it’s become second nature. Subject Matter Experts or SME as we prefer to call them are the custodians of knowledge and the fountains from which we must draw to grow the knowledge and expertise of the team or users when we set out to create documentation. While SMEs are an excellent resource, documentation isn’t always their número uno responsibility. Hey, read that again! These folks are always busy and often saddled with more responsibilities than TWs know of. Hence, it’s imperative to build a healthy symbiotic relationship with them. One that ensures you’re getting all the good stuff and documenting it with your audience in mind. To get the good stuff, you’ve got to build the right relationships with SMEs. Respect their time, do your home work, set clear expectations and leverage the right communication channels. Do not forget your probing questions! Always bring them to the table.
