Dear colleagues, Based on our recently published multinational study in the Journal of Trauma & Acute Care Surgery which included the world’s largest registries (ABO/AORTA) on the clinical use of REBOA with a total of 848 patients, it is our conclusion that all hemodynamically unstable trauma patients (blunt and/or penetrating) should be considered for endovascular aortic occlusion upon arrival to a Level 1 Trauma Center when their presenting systolic blood pressure is between 60 - 80 mmHg because for every 10 mmHg decline from this critical threshold, the probability of death increases exponentially. The goal is to avoid complete cardiovascular collapse and death!! https://lnkd.in/eN76pP2X
