How do we bring back the trades, I have seen some “Proper tradesmen/persons” showcase some great work, Lead workers, Sheetmetalworkers, Electricians, Roofers all types, Carpenters etc etc I know your going to say apprenticeships which is 100% correct but the way I see it, they don’t get paid enough to persue an apprenticeship, the cost of living varies from North to South in the UK, for example in London a labourer/mate can get paid more than a apprentice so where is the incentive to do an apprenticeship ? Some apprenticeships are now over two years which I believe is too short, mine was four years. Where will the pride for wanting to be a tradesman/person to come from and be able to proudly say “I’m a tradesman/Person” Interested in your views.
