When people consume soft drinks or cookies, they rarely do so believing those things will improve their health. However, many believe that things like sugar-free sports drinks, sweetened yogurts, and low-carb tortillas are "healthy" - and consume them liberally. There are tons of studies correlating ultra-processed foods with unfavorable health outcomes - even those foods that we don't often think of being UPFs. We don't have to eliminate all UPFs to be healthy - but we aren't going to get there until we have the wisdom to call a spade a spade. Understanding the definition is the first step! PSA: No food is inherently bad for you. On the flip side, everything is bad for you in excess. Even water. Most people don’t face an issue with the food they eat, but rather the quantities of the foods they enjoy. If you’re looking to turn your health around it’s best to shift from a focus of what not to eat to more of a focus on what foods you should be including more in your diet. Think more good rather than less bad and you’ll end up getting the result you were looking for anyways.

Life can be sour, so sweeten it up with the right stuff These are 3 ways I sweetened up my diet after dropping acid forming, inflammatory, addictive, processed SUGAR. 👉🏿 I added more fruit into my diet. When you stop a habit, usually our bodies will want to replace that habit with something else. Fruit is high in fiber, water and nutrients. Do you know that it is also really low in calories? 👉🏿 I replaced the processed sugar in my tea with honey or some homemade date paste. Did you know pure honey is medicinal in nature? 👉🏿 Lastly with the removal of processed sugar my mind was calmer and now I could rest more, be more mindful and actually taste the real flavours of different foods. Do you know that health is beyond your taste buds? 🙌🏿 How are you adding sweetness into your life in healthy ways?
