📌 Offer revoked before even joining the company. The Human Resources department hires a new employee during campus recruitment. The new employee is thrilled to have secured a job at a company, ready to kick-start her professional journey. She didn't apply elsewhere because she already had an offer from a company that she planned to join after completing her engineering degree. Upon graduating, she impatiently awaited the company's call but received no response even after 3 long months. Then one day, an email arrived from the company informing her that her offer was being withdrawn, leaving her to search for another opportunity. During this time, she wasted precious time and energy while remaining unemployed for an entire year. To all Recruiters out there, please give prior notice if you plan to rescind an offer letter. The new employee eagerly anticipates the call and envisions her first day at work, only to have those dreams shattered when the offer is pulled back without warning. If you are not interested in a candidate, why go through the hiring process in the first place? Where is the fairness and justice in this situation? #hr #recruiter #dataanalyst #remotejobs #hiring #jobs #softwareengineer

I just saw a job posting that stated: We are seeking candidates for an entry-level position with 2-3 years of professional experience in the information technology field. But shouldn’t “entry-level” require zero years of experience? They do go on to clarify: This role is designed for individuals looking to build on their existing skills and take the next step in their career. So perhaps not really “entry-level” as the dictionary definition, but for those with some hands on experience elsewhere in the IT space but looking to move to a different space? The job title is vague: “Emerging Talent - Information Technology”.

I’ve been reflecting on my recent job search experience and felt compelled to share my thoughts. After countless applications with my genuine resume, I’m struggling to even get a single call back. Ironically, when I included fake experience, the interest came flooding in. It seems like the job market prioritizes experience over skills. This creates a frustrating cycle that leaves many qualified candidates overlooked. I believe it’s time for employers to look beyond just years on a resume and focus on the skills and potential that candidates bring to the table. Let's champion a hiring process that values passion and capability as much as experience. I’d love to hear your thoughts on this! Let’s support each other in finding fair opportunities. #DataEngineer #AzureDataEnginner #Jobs #IT #Hiring

I had an frustrating but product conversation with a recruiter this week. I would like to share. Currently I am job searching and looking for a career change. I'm filtering job boards for "Entry Level" roles and creating custom resumes for each job I feel qualified for. I found a role as a Data Center technician. It was tagged as entry level and there was no mention of years of experience required. The salary was definitely in the range of an entry level employee. I sent my resume (using easy apply, which I dislike). The company had multiple postings for IT type roles so I thought it would be advantageous to connect with the recruiter and maybe find another position if this one did not work out. The recruiter responded to my message and we scheduled a phone call. Once we were able to connect, we discussed the role and they basically responded telling me that the client wants someone with "a year or 2 experience in a data center. So I'm not going to forward your resume because I know it will be rejected." NOW...... my understanding is "Entry Level" means zero experience. As in entering the job field. In my opinion, "Associate" makes more sense for this role. I voiced this to the recruiter and they pointed out many entry level jobs still require experience. This experience could come from school projects, internships, volunteer work, or something you did not realize was in that field. So, the lesson I learned is that "Entry Level" means something different to every company and to search deeper into your experience to find a way into these roles.
