I am grateful for how much business incubators and accelerators have impacted my entrepreneurship journey! Joining Scale Up 305 powered by the Haitian-American Chamber of Commerce of Florida has been one of the best decisions I've made for my business so far in Q2. The instructors have a wealth of knowledge and a passion for teaching that has expanded my horizons and equipped me with valuable insight. Being surrounded by fellow entrepreneurs who are genuinely honest about their challenges has been inspiring and comforting. It’s a safe space where we can share our struggles and collaboratively find innovative solutions. I'm experiencing the power of community and collective wisdom. The approach is hands-on and practical, not just about theory. I've implemented learnings directly into my agency, and I saw immediate results. Last but not least, the support from my fellow cohort members has been invaluable. Despite coming from different industries and backgrounds, we've found common ground, shared resources, and fostered meaningful connections that I hope will endure beyond the program. If you're an entrepreneur in the Miami-Dade area seeking growth, learning, and community, I highly recommend exploring what Scale Up 305 has to offer. Their next cohort is starting in June. WHO? The transformative impact of Charles Zuze's entrepreneurial programs is evident in the numerous success stories that have emerged from participants. These individuals, who have embraced the teachings and philosophies imparted through the Master of Business in the Streets (MBS) and Counseling in the streets (CIS) Training, have gone on to achieve remarkable feats in their personal and professional lives. One such story is of a young woman from a small village who, after completing the MBS program, launched a sustainable agriculture business. Her venture not only provided her with a stable income but also created job opportunities for others in her community. Her success has been a beacon of inspiration, showing that with the right knowledge and determination, entrepreneurial ventures can flourish even in the most challenging environments. Another notable example is a group of youths who participated in the CIS Training. They developed a community project focused on clean water access, which not only addressed a critical need but also fostered a spirit of collaboration and social responsibility. This project has since received recognition from local authorities and has been replicated in neighboring areas. These stories are just a glimpse into the profound effect that Charles Zuze's programs have had on individuals and communities. They underscore the potential of entrepreneurship to drive change and the power of effective mentorship in unlocking that potential. For more detailed accounts of these and other success stories, interested readers can explore the resources provided by the program. https://lnkd.in/gAdea3eh

#Crowdfunding for product development? For those who missed our presentation at the EU-SPRI 2024 conference, the key thoughts, findings, and takeaways are discussed in the attached slides. 🔎 Overall, we conclude that there is partial alignment regarding the project’s perceived quality, but it does not automatically result in expert funding. This could imply different criteria or perspectives between the two groups when evaluating projects and deciding to fund them. As someone deeply committed to fostering equity, I’m incredibly inspired by our latest research. This report, from the Nasdaq Entrepreneurial Center’s Venture Equity Project, shares how geographic location plays a pivotal role in advancing entrepreneurship for underrepresented communities, especially Black, Hispanic, and female founders. We’ve long known that opportunity isn’t equally distributed, and this research provides data-driven models for building more inclusive entrepreneurial ecosystems. By identifying key states—like Georgia, Florida, and Texas—emerging as leaders in equitable entrepreneurship, we can now focus on what’s working and replicate these successes in other regions. It was surprising to learn that up-and-coming ecosystems tend to be more equitable, offering hope that newer ecosystems can break through historical barriers. But, as we all know, there is still much work to be done to achieve true equity, both in these noted states and across the country. This kind of research is not only a call to action but also a roadmap for policymakers, investors, and ecosystem builders to commit to place-based solutions that foster inclusive access to capital and resources. I’m hopeful and excited to see how this work sparks change and drives systemic equity for entrepreneurs across the U.S. #EntrepreneurshipEquity #InclusiveInnovation #VentureEquityProject #SupportUnderrepresentedEntrepreneurs

Fostering an entrepreneurship ecosystem in underserved communities is based on goals that are aligned not only to increase the micro-level growth of supported firms but also to enhance the macro-level entrepreneurship environment of the region. This advocates for an integrative, collaborative strategy that establishes incentives and frameworks connecting knowledge with other vital ecosystem components. As such, university entrepreneurship initiatives are not solely about creating new companies; rather, they encapsulate a broader spectrum of social processes geared toward bolstering the holistic socio-economic welfare of communities. Crucial to these processes is an inclusive approach to policy formulation and execution. Please read our new paper, “University-Led Entrepreneurship Ecosystem Building in Underserved Communities: From A Network Perspective”, based on a case study of NcGrowth at UNC Chapel Hill. https://lnkd.in/dPDdeaQj Mark Gabriel Little Carolyn Fryberger NCGrowth Michael Verchot Tiffany Rogers Bussey Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation
