For Christian healthcare chaplains (including hospital, care facility and hospice chaplains) in the Central Ohio area: I want to invite you to participate in my dissertation project: “Inviting Hospitality: A Workshop to Enhance the Spiritual Well-being of Christian Chaplains and the Patients They Serve” The invitation is extended to Christian chaplains, chaplain residents and interns. Participants can record 20 CEs of research time, as well. My hope and expectation is that participation in this project will help strengthen your connection with your vocational call and spiritual well being, while enhancing your ability to help patients move toward spiritual wholeness. While it is an investment of time, It should provide direct and immediate benefit to you and will extend the research into the unique needs of Christian chaplains and the overall practice of pastoral care. 🌟 Exciting News! 🌟 WellMiss is officially a Delaware Public Benefit Corporation (PBC)! 🎉 Our mission to provide social impact and equitable access to holistic, integrative trauma care has always been at the heart of our work. Becoming a PBC solidifies our commitment to making a meaningful difference. As a PBC, we are legally mandated to consider the impact of our decisions on society. This solidifies our commitment to creating public benefits and social good, balancing the interests of all stakeholders—including our patients, employees, communities, partners, supporters, and investors—and leading with purpose. Here’s how we’re leading with purpose as a PBC: ✨ 5% Giveback: Offering free trauma care for 5% of women annually who lack financial means and insurance. ✨ Affordable Care: Providing a sliding fee scale based on income to ensure access for low-income women. ✨ Patient Voices: Our founder and CEO, Jennifer "Jaki" Johnson, built WellMiss from her personal experience with trauma and firmly believes that the patient’s voices are at the center of care. Her philosophy is clear: "There is nothing about us without us." That's why we’re establishing an official Patient Advisory Group to continue shaping our care with direct patient feedback. ✨ Community Education: Hosting annual trauma education events in high-risk counties to empower and inform communities. ✨ Impact Report: Publishing yearly insights on contributions, patient outcomes, and community impact. ✨ Purpose Beyond Profit: Every action we take is rooted in compassion, inclusivity, and whole-person care. We’re creating a pathway to make women's integrative trauma care accessible, equitable, and sustainable. This is just the beginning of our mission to build a healthier, more just society. 💙

May is #NECawareness Month! We'd love to hear what you are doing to help raise awareness and funds so we can #preventNEC! We chose May to be NEC Awareness Month because mothers are essential to our work of advancing NEC research, education, and advocacy. We will only build a world without NEC by partnering with and elevating mothers. Mothers provide the most protective therapy against NEC—their milk. Science is essential to our vision of a world without NEC, but it takes an average of 17 years for research evidence to reach clinical practice. We chose the 17th of May because we cannot wait 17 years for today’s emerging NEC research to reach our babies in the NICU. We need to prevent NEC now. We need a world without NEC today. Our motto “from pain to power” recognizes the profound heartache that follows a NEC diagnosis. The pain caused by NEC often stays with us for a lifetime. It takes remarkable strength to channel our anguish into helping other families and driving our organization's mission. The NEC Society is working tirelessly to accelerate research, raise awareness, and build a world without NEC by keeping babies and families centered in everything we do. We invite you to share how NEC has impacted your life and support the NEC Society by recognizing NEC Awareness Month. You can join our movement at https://lnkd.in/gmxU8Px3

Recently, I had the privilege of speaking at the Pediatric Palliative Oncology Symposium #PPOS about the 🌎Power of Global Research🌏—a power that lies not just in the data, but in the stories of those who live and breathe the realities we aim to address. As a pediatrician originally from and trained in an LMIC, now working in an HIC, I encourage my colleagues in both regions to embrace collaboration as a pathway to meaningful change. It's time to increase and amplify the contributions of healthcare workers from LMICs in research. Your voice, your experience, and your contributions matter—they are essential! Here are some key takeaways to inspire global research efforts: To my colleagues in LMICs: 🔹 JUST DO IT❗️—Start with a report, an abstract, or a small study. Your lived experiences are invaluable. 🔹 Seek mentorship and collaborations, both regionally and globally. 🔹 Push forward—your voice is vital to shaping global change. To my colleagues in HICs: 🔹 Be humble. Acknowledge and respect local expertise. 🔹 Partner equitably, listen actively, and value the lived experiences of your collaborators. 🔹 Focus on real, on-the-ground impact—not just theoretical contributions. Together, we can break barriers and co-create a global research environment where every voice is valued, and the children and families we serve remain at the center of our efforts. ✨ Empathy, collaboration, and perseverance are the strongest tools we have. Let’s use them. 📽 Don’t miss the recording of this talk at the Pediatric Palliative Oncology Symposium 2024 at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, along with eight other incredible talks by amazing international speakers! https://lnkd.in/eNkHPMjW #GlobalHealth #Pediatrics #PalliativeCare #Collaboration #ResearchImpact #EquityInHealth
