Through its grant work, the Elevance Health Foundation works to address health inequalities and strengthen our communities, which helps advance Elevance Health's purpose of improving the health of humanity. In July 2021, the Foundation made a commitment of up to $90 million over a three-year period to advance health equity in the following focus areas: maternal, food as medicine, substance use disorder, and community resiliency/disaster relief. I'm excited to share that they have exceeded that milestone, committing more than $97.3 million over the last three years. Through these grants and associate engagement programs, the Foundation has provided funding to over 12,000 nonprofit partners across the country, impacting more than 43 million Americans. - https://ow.ly/bQ6w30sI7Kx

In the nonprofit sector, managing fluctuating revenue streams is a persistent challenge that demands strategic foresight and adaptability. Recent events, particularly the "generosity crisis" emerging in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, have underscored the critical importance of effective revenue management for organizations committed to serving their communities. Watch our latest video to learn more.

Learning, adaptation and flexibility are KEY drivers for effective and responsive programming. Punitive and rigid funding and reporting frameworks are shown by the literature to inhibit organisational learning. Sonja Giese highlights critical enablers for funding data-driven programmes in ECD that came out of the DataDrive2030 funders symposium. I love this point: "Adequate investment is needed in the full data value chain, and for the full duration of the learning journey. Enabling funding practices include multi-year grants, budgets appropriately matched to the data needs of the organisation, support for core capacity and sufficient flexibility within budgets to accommodate data informed course correction." Data is only powerful when organisations have the agency and support from funders to act on it.
