Neodymium glass (also known as Alexandrite glass), changes colour according to different lighting conditions, here you can see it’s quite dramatic. Neodymium glass (Nd:glass) is produced by the inclusion of neodymium oxide (Nd2O3) in the glass melt. Usually in daylight or incandescent light neodymium glass appears lavender, but it appears pale blue under fluorescent lighting. Neodymium may be used to colour glass in delicate shades ranging from pure violet through wine-red and warm Gray. 📚 Exploring the Evolution of Acoustic Insulation: A Journey Through Time! 🎓 Did you know? The quest for tranquility dates back centuries, with ancient civilizations employing innovative methods to minimize noise intrusion. Fast forward to the modern era, and the evolution of acoustic insulation has reached new heights, revolutionizing how we design and experience spaces. 🏛️ Ancient Beginnings: Ancient Egyptians utilized materials like reeds and mud to minimize sound transmission in their dwellings, laying the foundation for acoustic principles still relevant today. 🛡️ Medieval Innovations: Medieval castles incorporated thick stone walls to dampen noise, setting a precedent for structural design techniques aimed at soundproofing. 📜 Industrial Revolution: The advent of industrialization brought new challenges, with noisy machinery disrupting workplaces. Engineers responded with rudimentary soundproofing measures, laying the groundwork for modern acoustic engineering. ⚙️ 20th Century Advances: The 20th century witnessed significant advancements in acoustic science, with the development of sound-absorbing materials like fiberglass and acoustic tiles. These innovations transformed industries ranging from construction to automotive, enhancing comfort and safety. 🔊 Contemporary Solutions: Today, cutting-edge technologies like acoustic panels made with regenerated fibre offer customizable solutions for noise control in diverse environments and sectors. 🔍 Looking Ahead: As our understanding of acoustics continues to deepen, so too will our ability to create environments that prioritize comfort, productivity, well-being and sustainability. Join us on this journey through the evolution of acoustic insulation! Stay tuned for more insights into how historical innovations continue to shape our modern world. #AcousticInsulation #AcousticHistory #Innovation #Soundproofing #MappyItalia 🎶🔇

Illuminating Engineers - Yesterday, Today (60's) and Tomorrow What was written in the 1960's about what happened in the 30's is eerily similar to what has happened with LED. And I can point to another time in history where fluorescent was seen as a significant change aswell. "In this atmosphere of calm serenity, of measured proprieties and balanced achievement, the first Neon lights began a revolution as lasting as that which started with the storming of the Bastille. For the first time in the history of mankind light, natural or artificial, was not produced by incandescence. Light and lighting, lighting engineering and indeed the lighted world would never be the same" Illuminating Engineering Society IESANZ - The Lighting Society #lightingdesign #technology #lighting #artificiallighting #design

The CARB Phase 2 standard and the European E0 standard both focus on formaldehyde emissions from wood-based composite materials like MDF, but they differ: CARB Phase 2 standard, set by the California Air Resources Board (CARB), establishes formaldehyde emission limits, gradually becoming stricter. Products meeting CARB Phase 2 comply with U.S. requirements. The European E0 standard, regulated in Europe, sets formaldehyde emission limits for wood-based products. The E0 label indicates compliance with Europe's strictest requirements. In general, the European E0 standard tends to have stricter requirements compared to the CARB Phase 2 standard. #PianoFinsh #HighGlossFinsh #MattFinish #loudspeakers #homeaudio #WoodBox #SpeakerCabinets #SpeakerBox #proaudio #subwoofers #bluetoothspeakers #hometheatre #wirelessspeaker #immersiveexperience #immersiveaudio #contractmanufacturing #recordingstudios #mixing #studiomonitors #soundengineering #soundengineer #architecture #dolbyatmos #THX #hometheater #hifiaudio #highendaudio #subwoofers
