When we build stories around insights, amazing things happen. That’s what we learned from our work with Skipton Building Society, which ended up driving an entire campaign based around ‘meaningful giving’. Find out how we did this using the link below. https://lnkd.in/et7tSEex

After recently started on a renovation on one of our single family houses, a young couple tracked us down on social media and told us they saw the signs out front and are eager to live in that area. After much conversation we realized that this house might be the perfect place for them specifically and are in the process of potentially tailoring the renovation to their preferences, and within their affordable budget! Every day at AJ Otter, we are reminded of our mission: "Building Better Communities One House At A Time." Building better communities doesn't happen all at once. It starts with small things to impact the community around us . . . one house at a time. #BuildingBetterCommunities

To my network As a B Corp we're always on the look out for like minds to collaborate with. I've been introduced to the brilliant Jude King from Community RePaint. Jude has asked me to connect her with people who might be helpful in spreading the word both from a marketing perspective and also to reach audiences of community groups / leisure trusts / sports clubs who might like to think about starting their own Community RePaint scheme – all you need is a space (that needs painting!), some person power and the drive to be more sustainable and help towards building a circular economy! In a nutshell: How to save money and add to your green credentials by picking up a paint brush. Community RePaint is a UK wide paint reuse network. Their 70+ schemes collect leftover paint from traders, businesses, manufactures and homes and redistribute it to benefit individuals, families, schools, communities and charities at an affordable cost. An estimated 50 million of the 320 million litres of paint sold in the UK each year go to waste. This leftover paint is either thrown away or stored in homes or garages despite over 50% of it still being usable. Community RePaint is here to change all that. For 30 years they’ve been collecting and redistributing surplus paint for the benefit of our communities and the planet. Are you planning on decorating this year? Halls, offices or larger spaces - For large volumes (60 litres or more) choose ReColour our remanufactured paint. Available in a range of colours and delivered to your door. Using innovative technology, we take leftover paint, filter, treat and blend it to create a range of high-quality interior emulsion, exterior masonry, gloss and chalk furniture paint. ReColour rivals the big names on quality, beats them on price and is the answer to sustainable decorating. Murals, benches and smaller spaces - For small volumes in an array of colours visit your local Community RePaint Scheme – find them online. Our schemes collect half tins and paint that will otherwise be disposed of, checks for quality and makes them available to the public via their retail outlets. These are all community projects, so every tin purchased saves waste and contributes to a great cause. Jude has spoken to their remanufacturing centre in the Wirral and they have confirmed that when ReColour (the remanufactured paint) is suitable for community use settings. Testimonial: “We were looking at an extortionate bill to get it all painted professionally and so when we got in touch with Community RePaint we were amazed and all the money we've saved will now be available to support the community in creating their initiatives.” Kentish Town Innovation Hub Contact details below: communityrepaint.org.uk Facebook: CommunityRePaint X: Comm_RePaint Instagram: Communityrepaint Tiktok: communityrepaint Email: repaint@resourcefutures.co.uk 0117 914 3452

Teaching children hands-on skills is about more than just learning—it's about building confidence, independence, and resilience. From the day we could hold tools, my brothers and I were taught the value of craftsmanship and hard work. Now, as a proud girl dad, I believe it’s just as important for young girls to have at least basic practical skills, especially in today’s world. At Spencer & Co, we’re not just creating outdoor spaces—we’re creating a legacy. The fourth generation of Spencer landscapers will be ready to uphold the responsibility, honour, and dedication that comes with being a Spencer in the landscaping industry. 💪🪴✨ #familybusiness #landscaping #legacy #skillsforlife #girlpower #handsonlearning #nextgeneration #gardendesign #Wolverhampton

𝗖𝗥𝗘𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗔 𝗖𝗢𝗠𝗠𝗨𝗡𝗜𝗧𝗬 𝗣𝗔𝗥𝗞: What do you do with 5-10 acres of idle land if you don't want to sell or farm it? Create a community park. Not a mini-park. This is where a Master Plan comes in. What is it? It's a vision board for your park. A Master Plan is more than just a blueprint, it's a community bond. Picture this: • A small lake for fishing • Playgrounds for the kids • Walking trails, and outdoor exercise equipment for all ages • Picnic areas for family gatherings • A stage for outdoor concerts or performances • A community garden, and maybe even a farmer's market 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝗼𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗹𝗲𝘀𝘀. Creating a Master Plan doesn't have to be expensive. Here are some tips: • Collaborate with local businesses, community organizations, and city officials • Tap into grant programs for funding • Engage with landscape architects and construction companies in your area for the best deals This is your chance to turn idle land into a thriving 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗵𝘂𝗯 that brings people together. Start with a Master Plan, and watch your community grow. Check Out PodCity Small Parks Initiative (SPI) https://lnkd.in/d6i4KCED
