Guess what I spotted at Dunedin airport? The Black Jersey What does this Jersey mean? It depends who you ask I imagine To teams that play the All Blacks they probably know that they’re going to be in for a battle To NZ rugby players it’s what most aspire to become, to put that black jersey on or perhaps to create a legacy or to honour that legacy of all the greats that played before them and leave it in a better place once they have moved on. The one thing that everyone can learn from is the standards that the All Blacks set is a continual drive for excellence and that winning is everything. In an age where participation is rewarded without the pressure to get a result, have we become to soft and accepting of “ AVERAGE or PARTICIPATION MEDALS?” You either create a focus on winning or a focus on participation. Which one do you prefer? Is the focus on winning to outdated? Be great to get your comments. Do you agree? #sales #salestraining #salestrainer

Given the potential candidates and the unique position #Liverpool finds themselves in after #JurgenKlopp's transformative era, it's a delicate balance between maintaining the club's competitive edge and evolving the team's playing style and philosophy. #XabiAlonso stands out as an intriguing option. His historical connection to Liverpool and his promising managerial tenure at Bayer Leverkusen offer a mixture of tradition and forward-thinking that could resonate well at Anfield. His experience as a player under various top managers could provide him with a unique perspective on adopting different styles and tactics, making him a perfect fit by imprinting his own tactical identity on the team. #RobertoDeZerbi and #RubenAmorim represent the more modern, tactical evolution of football, with both having shown an ability to innovate and overperform with their respective teams, but their styles represent a shift that might require time for adaptation, which could be a gamble considering the immediate competitive pressures at Liverpool. #ThomasTuchel's proven track record at the highest level, including winning the #ChampionsLeague with #Chelsea, makes him a safe bet in terms of experience and tactical acumen, but his recent mixed results at #BayernMunich might raise questions about his ability to sustain success over the long term and adapt to a club's evolving needs. #PepijnLijnders, being an internal option, offers continuity and an intimate understanding of the club's culture, philosophy, and squad dynamics. This could ensure a smoother transition post-Klopp but poses questions about his readiness for the top job, given his lack of experience as the main man in charge. Leaning towards Xabi Alonso feels right. His connection to the club, understanding of its culture, and early success in his managerial career offer a mixture of continuity and innovation. The challenge, of course, will be in the execution and whether he can translate his ideas into sustained success in the demanding environment of the #PremierLeague.

Tonight see's the return of FA Cup Football. Maidstone United become the first team outside the top five divisions to play in the fifth round since 1978. Maidstone Utd are a club that went bankrupt in 1992 and were forced to start again in the fourth division of the Kent County League (dropping 12 leagues in the process), Maidstone are the epitome of an underdog story. Every underdog story provides a powerful lesson of resilience and determination. Both qualities are needed if you are to triumph against all odds. When an underdog wins it reminds us that greatness often emerges from unexpected places. Ultimately, Maidstone Utd getting to the fifth round of the FA Cup serves as a beacon of hope. It proves that with passion, perseverance, and a refusal to be defined by limitations, anything is possible. Running a smaller business in a competitive market, nothing gives me more inspiration then watching the David's beat the Goliaths of the world. I, for one, will be watching tonight with the hope that Maidstone can remind the world that with teamwork, determination, and desire the possibilities are endless! #underdog #challenge #FACup #Maidstone #Coventry

A few interesting facts............... 8 of Villa's starting 11 were in a relegation battle this time last year. Villa are now challenging for a Champions league place. The European champions faced 22 shots in total - the joint-most any Guardiola team has faced in his 535 games as a manager. Villa's 13 first-half shots is also the most ever faced by a Guardiola side ever. City even failed to win a single corner - that has never happened before in the Premier League during the Spaniard's reign. Villa’s best start since 80/81 and we all know what happened the year after that……Champions of Europe. Record equalling 14 home wins on the bounce. This goes to show, with the right leadership your team, squad and/or business can reach heights you would have never imagined. With a change of mentality, what could your business achieve, what heights could you reach? If you’re looking to make a senior hire, make sure you’ve got a system in place to mitigate the risk of making a bad hire, because I'm sure you would rather be challenging for champions league and breaking records, rather then being in a relegation battle, a bad culture and an underperforming squad. #financialplanning #recruitment #financialservices #greatmansconsulting #utv

My Football Adventures: A “Self-Motivation” story. Through self-motivation, relentless practice, and studying the game's greats, the intention of playing not just for fun but in a team began to seem achievable when I joined up to play in this Football Match. With encouraging words, leading by example, and always pushing others to believe in themselves as much as they did, the team's atmosphere transformed. We fostered a belief that together, we could rise above our ranks, play better, and win. My moment of glory wasn’t far behind. In this crucial match, with the team's hopes hanging by a thread. One goal came, a slick maneuver past the defense, a shot fired into the net. Then another, a testament to determination, fighting through fatigue and pressure. And then, miraculously, a third – a hat-trick of goals that seemed to defy belief. It was Unbelievably Magical. As the final whistle blew, victory was ours, but it was more than just a win; it was a testament to what belief, motivation, and teamwork could achieve. The team, once underdogs, had been transformed into champions, with me, not just a player, but a leader who had shown that the greatest victories often start with a single step of self-motivation. Southgate, best manager England ever had, never makes a bad decision, genius, said it all along!!! 😁 Messaged a friend of mine in jest after Saturday's penalty victory where we'd both been swearing at the TV. Maybe you were too?? But this video helps me understand a little about what is actually happening to this team... "I gave him a massive cuddle on the pitch." Said Southgate about Saka in his post match interview on Saturday. "He's a special boy, he's a dream to work with, wonderful family." I love the care and affection that's so clear from the manager here. Whatever you think about Gareth, Whatever happens in the next game (or two!).. These are the words of a leader that cares about his people. And a team that has a unity, belief and brotherhood that feels palpable, genuine...and different. The question is are these the qualities of elite leadership that drives success? With 3 semi-finals and a final in the last 5 tournaments, and a 3 from 4 penalties record..I'd say so. I'd say this is two games away from being seen as a masterclass in team building and leadership. I'll happily give Southgate the credit for this aspect of his work right now! But what about you? Is Southgate a leadership and team building genius or just an over-sharer that should have brought the subs on earlier ? 😂 😃 And have I just cursed our chances of lifting the trophy!!! 😅 Comment below with your thoughts. Xx PS Please give this a re-post if it's useful for your network. Source: Talksport | Youtube #southgate #england #football #leadership

Another FA Cup weekend has come and gone, and what a set of matches it was. From the classic showdown between Wolves and West Brom, to the near-upset of my Team United at Newport (But lets not talk about that), and the underdog triumph of Maidstone over Ed Sheeran's Ipswich Town, there were plenty of thrills and surprises. It just goes to show that in football, as in recruiting, anything can happen, and it's important to make the most of every opportunity. 🏆 The Ipswich vs Maidstone game was a prime example of this - despite Ipswich having 38 shots and 13 on target, it was Maidstone who made the most of their chances, with only 2 shots and 2 on target, coming out on top with a 2-1 victory. This serves as a reminder that in recruitment, as in football, quality can often matter more than quantity. It's not just about the volume of candidates, but about finding the right fit and making the most of those opportunities. So, as we move forward into the week, let's remember the lessons from this FA Cup weekend. Whether it's in football or in our professional lives, let's make the most of every chance that comes our way, and always strive to be the Maidstone in a world of Ipswiches. #OpportunityKnocks #QualityOverQuantity #LearnFromFootball
