As experts in the field of high pressure, we are constantly striving to expand our core expertise and equip ourselves for the future. High-speed electric motors are crucial for generating high pressures using blowers. As these are often difficult to obtain on the market, Elektror has invested 2 million euros in its own production facilities in order to guarantee long-term security of supply. Two new machines, a winding and drawing centre (RWE 1A-200-A) and a pre-press (ZFM-E 2R-200) have recently been added to our German production site in Waghäusel. Investments were also made in peripheral equipment such as grippers, cranes and testing equipment. "The investment in electric motor production at the German production site in Waghäusel is part of a strategic decision by Elektror to further expand its core expertise as a high-pressure specialist and at the same time to set itself apart from other competitors," says Steffen Kraft, member of the management board. With this investment, we are not only strengthening our future viability, but we would also like to pay special tribute to two deceased employees from engine production, Hanni and Judith, by naming the machines after them.💙 The two machines, purchased from Schaeffler ELMOTEC STATOMAT GmbH , were recently inaugurated at an internal ceremony and are already fully integrated into production. Further measures to optimise motor and blower production are already being planned, including a general overhaul of the resin system for insulating the copper wires in the electric motors, the development of a new test field for final blower testing and the expansion of the paint shop. The reason: the easy loading process and the elimination of battery changes and maintenance mean that companies can operate their Li-Ion-powered vehicles with a particularly space-saving charging infrastructure. Fabrizio Ruggiero from MAHLE Aftermarket also sees a strong advantage here: "By doing away with replacement batteries, we no longer need ventilated battery changing zones. This also frees up valuable warehouse space," summarizes the Head of Operations at the leading automotive supplier. In late 2023, the trade publication KUNSTSTOFF MAGAZIN announced its renowned “Product of the Year 2024” award. The magazine’s readers were invited to select products in five categories from a short list. Three innovations from Freudenberg Sealing Technologies were among the choices. In early March, we received the exciting news that we had taken second place in the “Materials and Materials Development” category for our #busbars. In Reichelsheim, we are especially proud because they represent a quantum leap in technology. We have actually achieved the small miracle with these products: We can securely seal them despite their rectangular shape. To put it simply, conductor rails made of copper or aluminum are built into every electric vehicle. These busbars guarantee the flow of current within the battery. Until now, however, their rectangular design made it hard to seal them reliably. Our second-place in the competition highlights an innovation that is impressive and sought-after in equal measure. Furthermore, we can manufacture it in large volumes. I am very proud of our team, which has worked hard to earn this honor. Parisa Burger, Business Development Manager, and Jean-Marie Braeunig, Vice President Technology, Special Sealing Division, were in Munich to accept the prize on behalf of Freudenberg Sealing Technologies and the entire project team. I sincerely thank my team for this tremendous success. Incidentally, Freudenberg Sealing Technologies was on Kunststoff Magazin’s short list for its #ETU-free compound for the cross-linking of chloroprene rubber. The list also included the material #Quantix ULTRA, a new class of high-temperature-resistant thermoplastic for electric mobility.
