Egyptian pyramids were constructed over 3,500 years ago, but there are no records of how they were built. Radar sensing has located vestiges of a Nile River branch that may have been instrumental in building them. Today's EarthDate uncovers the ancient Nile. Listen here: https://lnkd.in/gfYTMpA9

Uncover a city with over 200 pyramids. This is Meroë, the ancient capital of the Kushite Kingdom, in Sudan’s Nile Valley. The Kushites extended their influence over Nubia (an ancient region mostly covering Sudan and Southern Egypt) for more than 3000 years. The Kushite Kingdom once covered over 1500 km of the Nile Valley; this included ruling over Egypt from around 760 to 656 BC. Kushite rulers of that era are commonly called “the Black Pharaohs”. Meroë became this civilization’s third and final capital around 590 BC. This began what’s described as a golden age for the Kushites. Today, the remains of more than 200 uniquely Nubian pyramids can be found in the Sudanese desert, as a lasting monument to a prosperous people.

Long before modern warfare, African civilizations like the ancient Egyptians, Nubians, and Ethiopians built great underground structures for protection and defense. These ancient tunnel systems were often hidden behind secret doors and traps, and had advanced ventilation systems and escape routes. Some even had hidden rooms for storing food and water. The ancient Egyptians, for example, built a vast network of tunnels and chambers beneath the desert sands, including the famous Great Man-Made River, which stretched over 1,000 miles. Meanwhile, the Nubians built elaborate underground temples and tombs, with intricate stone carvings and paintings. These ancient structures not only showcase African ingenuity and innovation but also shows the importance of preserving our cultural heritage. Let's continue to celebrate and honor our rich history and the pioneers who paved the way for our future and that of the world at large. #sabiAfricaNetwork #AfricanHistory #UndergroundDefense #AncientInnovation #BlackExcellence #CulturalHeritage #Technology #Innovation #Science

The pyramid of Benben Which has puzzled scientists for thousands of years and they are still unable to solve its mystery. This stone dates back to the Heliopolis period of ancient Egypt and was discovered during the excavation of the Egyptian pyramids. This pyramid is made of black stone, but it is no ordinary stone because its ingredients are not found anywhere on earth. This black stone is only found in meteorites in space and the other surprising thing here is that it is a very hard iron rock and it is hard to shape and dig but not hard to break so how can it be cut with such precision at different angles. Was it cut? How did it shine with such sophistication? How were the front parts of the pyramid engraved with correct inscriptions?
