Dropping bombs or launching missiles from a ship at sea or clearing houses one at a time. What's the technical term? DOOR KICKERS... Trumpers and JD, if you keep splitting hairs, you will become as bald as the ex-President! Let's unpack this. General Richardson is right: "Through the Belt and Road Initiative the PRC aims to mass power and influence at the expense of the world's democracies." The outcome of the struggle for influence over the shape of the world will be determined by those, like General Richardson, who see its global nature and engage in it, strengthened by a cause. Unfortunately, many Americans have grown out of touch with their cause - one shared with allies and partners - and instead have become slaves to realism. They are misguided. On one hand, the isolationists will negotiate for immediate peace at the expense of gains made by generations before them. They'll displace relations with allies in favor of transactions with adversaries while ceding international legal structures. Their approach concedes defeat with a smile, upending the liberal international rules based order in favor of a might-makes-right worldview as they celebrate the downfall, their narratives matching those of the CCP and the Kremlin. On the other hand are the strategic managers. While holding to the idea of the rule-of-law and democracy, they become so consumed in realist ways and means that they forget the value-based political ends. They become managers, placing faith not into principles that inspire people, but into priorities and pivots. They become so consumed in the bureaucracy as to see the world in zero-sums of budgets and resources. As such, they fail to see the ideological nature of the struggle, stall in recognizing our adversaries as such, and go on to think they can manage their way out of crises in avoiding war. Both groups become so focused on realist ways and means so as to lose sight of the struggle itself: between freedom and authoritarianism, between free markets and controlled economies, between good and evil. What is needed now more than anything else is to buy back into ideals once again. We must understand them as our greatest strength. National interests come and go with the winds, but a liberal rules-based order is more enduring. Case in point: The Army, Navy, and nuclear deterrent of the Cold War helped bring down the Soviet Union in 1991; but, the undergirding reason for victory was what we believed in, advanced, and achieved as we engaged with others around the world. When one sees the collapse of the Berlin Wall, what do you remember? Who do you see? Is it the hammer? Or is it the spirit inside of young Germans who wanted to live free? What did our leaders tell us back then? Was it to acknowledge we just can't be everywhere all the time? Or was it to meet the challenge, knowing that our cause was just? Ideals cannot be contained. They know no bounds. They are infectious. They are what our adversaries fear most, and for good reason. Time to get back in touch with them and start delivering their message back out to the world ... one which will resonate in South America as much as it does in the Western Pacific and Eastern Europe ... globally.

This video is worth watching. We are experiencing allot of communications that portray the threat of cybersecurity on National Security. With nation states exploiting nations in Latin American and the Caribbean, to steel national secrets, IP, and research related to agriculture and healthcare. In ones view an example whereby the U.S government is communicating its concerns as they relate to cybersecurity and its use to further geopolitical advantage and tension.
