Was wonderful to see the impact of having arts and sciences come together on the subject of warnings and disaster reduction and having been able to contribute to this work. If we are to improve warnings we need to improve how we communicate, how we co-produce and co-create, and we need to join arts and sciences to do that! This is essential to help us better connect with people receiving, using and developing the warnings and across them. This Thursday at 2pm, stay cool and view the film "The Price of Everything" in our Sarasota High School Alumni Auditorium at SAM. As part of our Art on Film series, this film explores the art world and asks "Are we in the midst of an art crisis? Can the value of art really be measured in dollars and cents? How are these values assigned and who assigns them? Does the art market have a chilling effect on our great museums and the ability of the public to engage in the art of our time? Most importantly, what does this new consumerist approach to art mean for artists themselves?"
