Opening plenary talk at #ESSERC 2024 in Bruges: Marc Biron, CEO of Melexis, giving interesting insights into successful innovation. But what’s really remarkable: he is sharing the stage and his talk with two more people, his Innovation Director, and a young engineer and employee, who did her MSc in 2022 and shared her view on innovation in a very inspiring and professional way. Chapeau!

Continuous learning and improvement. Inspiration can come from anywhere and anyone. Once you have that mindset your ability to learn something new everyday regardless of the medium. Shout out to the team that keeps this cultural behavior going and made 2024 a successful fiscal.

INVENTORS and PRODUCT DEVELOPERS! Well now, that acronym KISS has been around for a long time, so long in fact that whomever coined it or used it first has been forgotten ... and it's taken on a life of its own. Keep It Simple Stupid was the first one I came across, but the acronym dropped the stupid (for many) to be replaced by other useful S words like Strategic, Straight, Smart, Safe and others. Whichever words you use, the most important one here is to keep 'it' simple because simple works. Looking at the video clip below (seen before as an outline for a man's shirt as well) it's obvious how clever SIMPLE is! As customers, our imaginations work overtime when we are buying whatever we're buying, we all 'see with our fingers' ... and so, if what you have invented can be portrayed in such a way as to give your customers a chance to see themselves using it, a chance to choose, a chance to own what they see before buying ... it could be that you've made the sale because of simple. Show don't tell. Thanks for the memory Sasa Spasic, it's good advice for Inventors and Innovators too! Let's Invent!
