How can we accelerate momentum towards a #NaturePositive future? Earlier this month in #Davos the focus was on business and economics. But economics and nature are indivisible. We are inherently connected to nature, yet we've arrived at a pivotal moment of decision: either persist on the current path that harms nature and jeopardizes our future, or shift direction in a way that protects nature and transforms our economies. Our CEO, Eva Zabey joined industry experts Marco Lambertini, Harvey Locke and Dorothy Maseke ,CFIRM to discuss how to work together towards nature-positive outcomes and live within planetary boundaries. Special thanks to Becky Anderson for moderating a very insightful session. We've been in partnership for a couple of decades now, so it's true it has been a long time to get us here. But it's also a very opportune time. This conversation, this breakfast, this annual meeting couldn't come at a more intricate time for the global economy. In the world of fragmentation, I think we all see the ripple effects of it, and 2025 promises to be a particularly eventful year. ~ Alexandre Raffoul - Member of Executive Committee, Head of Regional Business Strategy and Head of Global Partner Development, World Economic Forum #WEF25 #WorldEconomicForum2025 #Davos2025 #PakistanAtDavos #PathfinderGroup #PakistanPavilion

Spending last week in #Davos was an intense and insightful experience. The energy, conversations, and urgency around climate and sustainability continue to grow, so does the realization that action still lags behind ambition. I was struck by a few key takeaways: 1. The Shift from Commitments to Accountability – Companies and leaders are no longer just making pledges; they are being challenged on delivery. The pressure to show tangible results is increasing, yet many still struggle with the “how.” 2. Blended Finance is Gaining Traction – The conversations around sustainable finance are becoming more sophisticated. The need for blended finance solutions—where public, private, and philanthropic capital work together—is clearer than ever, especially for scaling nature-based solutions. 3. Nature is No Longer a Side Note – Forests, biodiversity, and ecosystem restoration are now firmly on the agenda. Nature-based solutions are increasingly seen as essential, not just complementary, to climate strategies. However, funding and implementation gaps remain significant. 4. Collaboration is Key – The complexity of the climate crisis demands partnerships across sectors. The most impactful discussions weren’t just about what one organization can do, but how we can work together—business, science, and civil society—to drive meaningful change. Davos is a place of big ideas, the real challenge is what happens after. How do we turn commitments into lasting impact? That’s where the real work begins. Looking forward to continuing these conversations and translating them into action with you! Big thanks to Seema Gupta and Tod Hynes and the Climate Scale-Up cohort for being such a great team 💚 . It’s been six years since I attended my first World Economic Forum Annual Meeting in #Davos with Justin Winters to launch the One Earth Climate Model, and the global landscape has shifted dramatically since... Although I have been going back ever since supporting a broad range of corporate and nonprofit clients, this year’s #WEF theme, “Collaboration in an Intelligent Age,” feels especially timely as we navigate the transformative impact of AI, reported rollbacks in DEI commitments, and the implications of a second Trump administration -- made all the more electrifying with the President's inauguration taking place on the meeting’s first day! As someone who works closely with the C-suite on communications strategies to drive engagement and impact, #Davos is a critical space to hear directly from leaders from all sectors on how they’re tackling these challenges and setting the agenda for 2025. So, if you’re attending this week, I’d love to connect and discuss what these pressing issues mean for you and your organization. Porter Novelli #DoingBusinessBetter #ExecutiveInfluence #OPRG

This week, I finally submitted my doctoral dissertation for examination process. Now, I have to wait for the feedback and final public defence. Since I am relatively free now, I will try to be more active on LinkedIn, and try to share my research insights. Today, I would like to provide a summary from the recently concluded Future Mobile Work Machines (FMWM 2024) event organised by SIX Sustainable Industry X. As some of you may know, I make extensive notes when I visit conferences, expos, and trade fairs. This time around, I used Perplexity AI to summarise my notes from the FMWM event. For a more detailed overview, do check the attached PDF document linked here: https://lnkd.in/dij4DGih. These were the main insights from the FMWM event: Alternative energy sources like electrification and hydrogen fuel cells are being explored to reduce emissions from mobile machinery, but challenges remain around cost, infrastructure, and power supply. Automation is progressing, with AI and teleoperations enabling capabilities for a diverse workforce, but connectivity issues and the need for human-machine collaboration remain. Data and AI are enabling condition monitoring, life cycle analysis, and augmenting human capabilities, but it's crucial to understand data inputs and implement a fail-fast culture. Sustainability is a key driver for new developments, with Scope 3 emissions being the biggest source. Thus, circularity is being enabled through new business models and design principles. Trends in the MWM industry include scalable system architectures, V2X communication, mixed fleets, and the evolving role of humans in smart machines. Multidisciplinary education and innovations are needed to address the challenges in mobile machinery. #FMWM #FMWM24

This year's Annual Meeting of the World Economic Forum is officially underway. The topic of 'Collaboration for the Intelligent Age' will define the different conferences and debates held in Davos. As a firm advocate for the integration of leading technology in the development of our hypercars, I am particularly interested in following the discussion on the topic of "Industries in the Intelligent Age". As AI is already a player in the global economy, we all have to work on fostering innovation within our own industries and in cooperation with others. This and other topics will be present at #DAVOS2025, so if you want to follow the agenda, here's the official website 👇🏼 https://lnkd.in/d9G6csrR

The fox is an apt metaphor for the entrepreneurial instincts and qualities that we constantly celebrate here in Silicon Valley. The literary fox has long been portrayed as the most clever, hungry, and transformational animal character. First appearing as tricksters or masters of spin over 2,500 years ago, the fox has been reinventing himself (‘pivoting’ in Silicon Valley parlance) ever since, eventually evolving into a protector of the common man and a heroic renegade. Much as the caricature of the fox has evolved over time, so has our perception and appreciation of the value and the importance of those who disrupt, transform, and build the world around us. Just consider what is likely to happen over the next decade: 🌐 A billion more people will be connected worldwide to the internet ☀️ Solar and other clean energy technologies will reach ‘grid parity’ with the cost of fossil fuels 🩺 Healthy human life may extend regularly to the 100-year mark 🚗 Autonomous self-driving vehicles and drones will change city landscapes and our productivity 🤖 Artificial intelligence, machine learning, and robotics will evolve and impact our lives as well as our global competitiveness 🚀 Space exploration will accelerate dramatically with the private commercialization of that industry. Today’s Silicon Valley innovators in the aggregate rival the era of Einstein, Edison, Wright, and Ford in channeling their ‘inner fox’ to bring a better future forward for everyone. It is important to recognize and remember that we are living in a time of truly exponential change. Humanity now has the ability and ambition to reach for those proverbial ‘sour grapes’ - a term we can thank Aesop’s “The Fox and the Grape” for - and turn them into champagne. And that is a not-too-distant future reality that is certainly worth celebrating.
