Shaping your end-of-interview questions well delivers impact. Thoughtful queries show interest and preparation. A lack of wonder displays the opposite. Longtime recruiter Dhritiparna Dhar says in Business Insider that she would ask four questions in an interview. Among them are, "Can you tell me about the future of my team?" Dhar says asking this question displays a social consciousness. She also says to ask about past growth in that role. That shows a candidate to be aspirational and allows the interviewer to explain how the company helps talent. Don't forget to ask about challenges, too. Work is never perfect, so understanding what you're getting into carries big benefits. 👉 What questions do you ask in interviews? Read more: https://lnkd.in/eJZeWmbi Summary ✍: Todd Dybas

Always have a few questions to ask at the end of an interview. One question I always recommend is asking your interviewer about their personal experience with the organization. Why do they like working there? Their answer can give you some important insight into the company culture, their mission, and their values. Also, I always recommend asking about next steps and expectations for communication. How soon could you expect to hear back from them? What is their timeline to hire? This article from Business Insider has a few great suggestions for questions you should ask as well. Remember, an interview is also your opportunity to learn more about the company than just what you see on the website.

Ghosting in Tech Recruiting: Why You Might Not Hear Back (and What You Can Do) Ever interview for a tech role and then...crickets? We've all been there. But why do some recruiters leave candidates hanging? Here are some reasons: Multiple Interviews: Tech companies often have lengthy interview processes. Recruiters might wait until all interviews are complete before giving feedback. Decision-Making Delays: Hiring managers can get bogged down, delaying their decision. Unclear Fit: Recruiters might be unsure if a candidate aligns perfectly and wait for a stronger fit. Candidate Pool Dynamics: If new, more qualified candidates emerge, it can affect the timeline. So, what can you do as a candidate? Follow Up: A polite email a week after your final interview is okay. Ask for a Timeline: During the interview, inquire about the expected decision timeframe. Stay Engaged: Continue your job search, but let the recruiter know you're still interested if you haven't heard back within their timeframe. By understanding the reasons behind radio silence, you can navigate the tech recruiting process more effectively. #techhiring #jobsearch #careerdevelopment #recruiting Let's discuss! Have you ever been ghosted by a tech recruiter? What do you think companies can do to improve communication?

A role reversal: What if a candidate could hire tech companies? It feels like you need to be an Olympian to survive the interview process! (Am I right?) Tech companies notoriously make candidates jump over hurdles: → Lengthy take-home projects → Multiple rounds of interviews → Stressful technical assessments But a job interview is a two-way street. So let's turn the tables! Take control during the recruiter screen: → Request salary transparency → Ask for clarity on the interview process (how many rounds, how long in total) → Align on work-from-home flexibility Be empowered to raise all 3 terms during your first call. If a recruiter refuses to discuss them with you, that's a red flag. Transparency (or lack thereof) speaks volumes about the hiring team and company culture. Remember, you are interviewing the company just as much as they are interviewing you. You can 'fire' them at any time. It's your career. You are always in the driver's seat. 🍋 -- I help you rethink your 9-5. Follow me for advice and ideas on how to start.

In my line of work as a recruiter, I often see one huge error….. 😕 . . . . . Businesses taking way too long to interview candidates!!!!! 😡 😨 Candidates are finding that they're being offered interviews (which is great!), only to be told that it's weeks, if not, months in the future (which isn't so great...). This is a big recruitment no-no, but why? 👀 ⌛ Nowadays, job seekers have tons of options (22 jobs per candidate!!!). So, if you drag your feet, you risk losing out on top talent to other companies that move faster. 💰 Taking forever to hire doesn't just waste time—it wastes money too. It ramps up costs and slows down productivity. Speeding up the hiring process helps cut these expenses and keeps things running smoothly. 👍 How quickly you hire can also affect your company's reputation. In today's digital world, candidates share their experiences online. So, a snappy hiring process boosts your image as a great place to work, making it easier to attract and keep top-notch talent. Don't let your competitors nab your best candidates - let's refine and boost your hiring process to make sure it's as quick and efficient as possible. #recruitmentprocess #recruitmentmarketinsights #timetohire Steve Jackson James Horton, Assoc IOR (CPD) Callum Burchell Ross Wilkins-Heath CertRP Chelsea B. According to a recent survey, communication with candidates who are applying for jobs is lacking. - Only 38.2% of candidates receive any information before their actual interview, other than the date and location. - Only 5.5% of unsuccessful candidates receive feedback that they find even moderately useful from employers with only 2.6% receiving “valuable feedback”. 55.9% reported that they had received no feedback at all. Don't let such a simple thing disrupt the success of your recruitment process so it leaves candidates anxious and frustrated. Remember if they're not happy with you as a potential employer, they will tell others. This might damage your reputation in the long run. #recruitment #hiring #communication #feedback #jobs #career
