🚜 Tritordeum harvest has come to an end, but now starts the after-harvest program. Here is what we do to analyze the 🔎quality of our lots: ✅NIR analysis for protein, moisture and specific weight: this will help us identify what the end use of the lot will be: milling, malting or feed. ✅Physical characteristics such as grain size (calibration), but also level of impurities. ✅Chemical characteristics such as falling number to ensure no pre-germination happened in field. ✅Rheological characteristics thank to a baking test of resulting flour. We use our own small scale mill to also test the milling capabilities. ✅Residues analysis for our organic certified productions. ✌Once all tests are passed with success, samples of our lots are shipped to customers for their approval. #cereal #grain #flour #innovation #sustainability #bakery #pasta #malt #lutein #gluten #digestibility #fiber #arabinoxylans #fructans #enzymes #taste #climatechange #nitrogenefficiency #perennialcrop #traceability

Corn silage is unique in that it is half forage and half grain. Neutral detergent fiber (NDF) digestibility is the primary metric of corn silage quality from a forage perspective, whereas starch is the main source of energy on the grain side.

Where does the word #flour come from? It comes from the Latin farīna, which in turn derives from far, meaning spelt. Today, the term flour refers to a preparation ground from #cereals, dried fruits (almonds or hazelnuts), pulses, or seeds of various plants. The variations may be numerous, but the origin of all #milling comes from wheat, one of the most cultivated plant species in the world. So valuable that it has also always been used instead of money as a valuable commodity for trade and barter. And it still plays a crucial economic role today, especially in those geographical areas where it can be cultivated.
