“Many of our nation’s defense startups and small businesses already possess the tools and know-how to help the U.S. maintain its technological superiority.” The nation’s capabilities factories, its muscular innovative start ups and small businesses must lead enhancement of our defense industrial base. We cannot afford to wait for the slow turning of process in the face of a determined and focused pacing threat, particularly in the Indo-Pacific. Steps to take to assist our nation’s warfighters and the systems that support them: 1. Identify and engage outcome based Defense leadership. 2. Challenge existing thinking and process with demonstrably effective capabilities as to their desired effects coupled with material cost savings. 3. Seek out coalition partners willing to advance their capabilities at the speed of strategic and tactical relevance (consistent with Export Control regulations, where applicable). 4. Focus on actual, relevant need with solutions for today with efficient and cost effective pathways to the future (avoid “shiny object” syndrome). 5. Press on in the face of ossified environments. It is time for us, the nation’s capabilities factories, to stoke the fires of innovation to meet real and present challenges. Join us at KnectIQ and let’s move!
