Check this out! To support continued maintenance of the Grand Gulf Nuclear Station in Port Gibson, Mississippi, Prairie performed high resolution lidar scans of the plant’s hydraulic turbine control valve areas. Models were developed from the scans to assist in the replacement of flexible control valve hoses as well as for the navigation and placement of two 60-inch strainers. Obtaining the credentials that allow unescorted access to a nuclear plant requires hours of training and testing, which must be renewed annually. The areas of the plant being surveyed involved multiple floor elevations that are sealed from one another and often highly congested with infrastructure. The data collected was processed into a plant coordinate system which could be used in the future for similar projects. #nuclearpower #nuclear #engineering #engineeringsolutions #utilities #utilitiesindustry #saftey

Just wrapped up my first live LinkedIn interview and... turns out it was more comfortable than I expected! Honestly, my biggest worry wasn't even the interview itself—it was the potential surprise appearance of the paparazzi... or, in reality, the Amazon delivery driver inciting a barking meltdown from my dog, Stella. If you have an opportunity, please take some time to learn a little more about Prairie! #engineering #EEI #utilities #surveying #environmental #leadership
Hmm? . . . Interesting!

We’re fortunate to have an outstanding IT team, led by Nick, who consistently impresses with their responsiveness and proactive solutions. Their ability to address our needs while always seeking improvements keeps our operations running smoothly and efficiently. Grateful for the great work they do!
At Prairie Engineers, P.C. I've been working diligently to create a friendly and flexible environment for remote work while ensuring systems remain secure and manageable for a small IT team. I wrote an article on our experiences which was published in the Zweig Group newsletter in the Spring of 2024. I'd be thrilled to talk more about any of these topics if you're facing challenges in this space! https://lnkd.in/gnafhcFX

Railroads have been the foundation of logistics since the early 19th century. (the first railroad in the U.S. was established in 1827!). Prairie Engineers is proud to support railway infrastructure projects and contribute to a sustainable future through our engineering, geospatial, and environmental services. This week, Scott Perkins and Ryan Butler are wrapping up a successful week at AREMA 2024, where railway industry professionals are collaborating on the future of the industry and making meaningful connections that will power upcoming projects. We’re excited to continue working alongside industry leaders to build and enhance the vital infrastructure that keeps our railroads—and our economy—moving forward. #AREMA2024 #Railway #Surveying #Engineering #ONECSX #TeamNS #UnionPacific #BNSF
