basic cargo checks done well...
We recently had a productive meeting with #SHELL, discussing their initiatives for #Drop Awareness Month. At #TanksALot, safety is our top priority, and we are committed to mitigating the risks of drops in various situations. Here are some key steps we take to ensure the safety of our cargo-carrying units (CCUs): - Conducting thorough visual inspections of forklift pockets. - Ensuring tie-down points are secure for temporary securement. - Regularly checking tag lines and hooks. - Understanding the design for offshore use before recommending equipment to clients. - Securing knots and bolts effectively. - Making sure GPS units are firmly in place. - Ensuring doors, grating, and rails are properly secured. - Securing split pins - Supplying cargo safety nets - Providing clients with detailed checklists and records. One of our key initiatives to adhere to safety and prevent drops involves daily routine visits to shore bases for inventory and checks of rented equipment, whether for long-term use or not. During these visits, we perform visual inspections, and if any equipment is found to be out of compliance, Tanks-A-Lot will replace it immediately. We are also excited to share a video uploaded by our Trinidad Coordinator, RYAN RAMNARINE , demonstrating these safety measures in action. Safety is not just a priority but a culture at #TanksALot. Together with #SHELL, we are making strides in ensuring the utmost safety of all operations. Joey Cannata Josh Arceneaux Clive Wilson ALBERTO C. TORRES M. It was a chilly day in Walvis Bay where We were doing STS operation. Few takeaways and points for consideration while carrying out STS. This is for the non tanker dry cargo officers where STS happens one in a blue moon 😀. -Both ship discuss the overall plan and agree on the security protocols. -Communication methods are established which will not interfere with the port control or distress frequency. -Own ships scupper plugs are in place. - All the details provided by the Bunker manifold is noted on the movement book. -Be very vigilant on the type of alarms because sometimes We can get overflow alarms of a tank which We can communicate to the Engineers. -Both ships radars are on stand by -No Smoking on deck and open area - Apropriate day signals are displayed and in night appropriate lights -Follow the Company specific checklists. As a competent deck officer Our job is not to conduct the operation but to help and overlook and to document any minute details possible. HAPPY SAILING!!!!

This video shows the few different types of ways we install the F type barriers along the highways and Motorways. The 1st barrier shown being installed is the preferred way..(but not always an option) Working forward, but attaching the barrier closest to operator. This can only be achieved when there is a 2 lane closure. One for the truck and one for the duck. The 2nd barrier being installed is the most common way on the motorways. Due to only being allowed a single lane closure.. This is a trickier procedure.. The truck has the closed lane, While the duck must sit centre of the barrier run. While having one side of the machine sitting on the verge, (soft grass) and installing the barriers away from the operator.. It’s made more difficult by not being able to see the barriers attach. This is where a good and experienced Dogman is critical to the works.. Aware of the precision needed for a smooth transition, and to keep their hand clear of the connecting area at all times.

This is sooo true! The life of a trucker driver… Rig On Wheels Broker & Recruitment Services 100% I say that non stop. Me: what am I a commodity? Dispatcher: Well no, why? Me: Well that’s how your treating me right now when I asked to go home for a few days, I’ve been out for 2 weeks. Do you go home? Dispatcher: Well ya! Me: Ok then, why are we having this conversation? Dispatcher: because your hired to be a truck driver and we have freight to move. Me: You know what? I’m done, get me back to the yard. Dispatcher: Wait? What you mean? Me: Did I studder? Route me back to the yard I’m done! 🤣🤣🤣
