Yesterday, on May 29th, Direktoratet for samfunnssikkerhet og beredskap (DSB) published new guidelines were published recommending that households in Norway store around 20 litres of water💧per person to cover the minimum needs for a week in case of an emergency. 🏡 Yet, studies show that few households actually do this. How can you ensure you have enough water in an emergency? One innovative solution is the use of Auqvian's #AtmosphericWaterGenerators (AWG)💧. AWGs are devices that extract water from the humidity in the air, providing a reliable source of clean drinking water. They are especially useful in emergency situations where traditional water sources might be compromised. Using Auqvian's AWGs can: - Ensure a continuous supply of fresh water💧without the need for large storage. - Reduce dependency on bottled water and avoid the plastic waste and microplastics associated with it. - Have peace of mind knowing that your family has access to safe drinking water, even if other sources are unavailable. Incorporating AWG technology into your emergency preparedness plan can be a game-changer, ensuring you have access to water no matter the circumstances. Be prepared and ensure your family's safety by exploring innovative solutions like AWGs! 💧 Check out Norsk Vann's website for other emergency preparedness recommendations and read more about it here: https://lnkd.in/d7yDaj9p #EmergencyPreparedness #microplastics #pfas #AWG #Norway

Great to see Bolton Clarke's work on social connection being recognised with loneliness awareness week coming up. Isolation in older people tends to get less attention because loneliness surveys show higher prevalence in younger cohorts. But the issue for older people is more likely to be lack of contact per se rather than not feeling connected. This isolation is also often more clearly situational, resulting from things like loss of work social networks, the death of loved ones, or health related loss of mobility/independence. Situational issues tend to be easier to address with interventions. The trick is connecting people with appropriate supports - which is often just helping them find something they can do that they enjoy. Public health campaigns around exercise have had a profound impact on the goals and behaviour of older people. Likely also saving governments lots of money through improved functional health. Putting the same level of effort into addressing isolation has the potential to deliver even bigger dividends. #agedcare #publichealth
We're excited to announce Bolton Clarke's work to build #socialconnection has been recognised with a nomination to the Silver Eco International Awards in France in the Fighting Isolation category. We'll be sharing some stories of this work over coming weeks. Find out more and vote for us here! #ageingwell #positiveageing https://lnkd.in/eR-YGZA9

📢Hear our GS, Tom Deleu, on EFBWW priorities for the coming months The European Federation of Building and Woodworkers (EFBWW) is ready for battle! In the coming months, we will focus on the following topics: 🌳 Climate change: We had again a summer with heatwaves and wildfires. Our workers feel the immediate impact. We will increase our campaigning on European level to push for legislative actions. ⛓ Subcontracting: We will continue our campaign for new legislation that will limit subcontracting and ban intermediaries in posting. The next step is 17 September: Join us in front of the European Parliament in Strasbourg for a European action! We're counting on you! The introduction of limits on subcontracting must be a priority for Von der Leyen's new team. 🛑 Far-right: We must reinforce our fight for social progress, strong trade unions and democracy. We had a good first discussion in the Executive Committee earlier this year. We will build on this to find answers and strategies to stop the threat of the far right. A lot of work on our plate, but we are ready. We count on you. See you soon in Strasbourg! https://lnkd.in/eugimkDG

Once again, I had a great time speaking at the ICR conference with CorpGov.com about the future of #ESG; what the new cultural zeitgeist and the Trump administration may mean for companies as they navigate the pendulum swings from pro- to anti-ESG, and how companies should prepare themselves for the long-term as some of the ESG pressures they have faced may be shifting. But as I say in this interview... be careful... nothing is permanent. https://lnkd.in/dnbUiyFU
