A year ago, I was standing in this Christmas tree farm, dreaming about what was to come. I was laser-focused on having a memorable, unmedicated home birth. For nine months, I prepared like my life depended on it—books, podcasts, every ounce of research I could find. But life had other plans. On December 21, my water broke early, and just like that, my meticulous plan was off the table. No home birth. No dreamy, candle-lit moment I’d envisioned. Instead, I had to scramble to find a hospital, something I dreaded & hadn’t even planned for. And yet, on December 22, my beautiful 4 lb, 2 oz baby boy arrived, healthy, safe, and surrounded by love. It wasn’t the story I’d written in my head, but it was exactly what I needed. 💙 Here’s what I learned: Sometimes, we’re so focused on one chapter that we miss the whole story. I knew I was going to have a baby, but I was so fixated on how the story would unfold that I almost forgot the goal: a healthy, happy arrival. What part of your story are you so laser-focused on that you might be missing the bigger picture? Are you clinging to a specific strategy, timeline, or outcome? Maybe it’s time to zoom out and reassess. Remember, success often comes from being adaptable, not just being prepared. Your goal is still within reach—it might just come in a way you didn’t expect. Sending everyone love and hugs for the holidays ahead! 🎄
