We are excited to welcome Zoe Miller to our team!
Zoe will be with us for the next two years as a Policy Fellow with Nebraska Civic Engagement Table. While she completes Lobby School, Zoe will integrate grassroots strategies, center impacted voices, and engage stakeholders with the goal of advancing policy in our state. As she's been getting settled into this role, she also answered a few questions so we can all get to know her better.
What types of projects fill your bucket?
Zoe: "I love projects that are community based and working together towards a shared goal. A lot of my previous experience involves community organizing, so I have found a passion for projects that help people whether it is advocating for/against policy changes, mutual aid work, or overall community education."
What should we know about you?
Zoe: "I am a middle child and I have the most precious dog, Stella. When I was a small child I lived in southwest Colorado but have lived in Nebraska for a majority of my life now. I absolutely love being in the mountain or desert ecosystems when I travel and would love to visit more National Parks in the US. I like calling myself a gamer but I really only play Nintendo games, with my favorite being Super Mario Galaxy."
What is life outside of work like?
Zoe: "Outside of work, I am almost always engaging in games. I love video games, board games, and tabletop role-playing games. I think almost every day I try to play at least one of those types of games with my family, friends, or just by myself."
What is something you've always wanted to learn?
Zoe: "I would like to learn how to do pottery."
