India primarily has a reactive healthcare system, where people believe it is wiser not to prepay for services they 'might not end up using/useful'. Many of us in India fail to grasp the significance of preventing chronic diseases and premature death and how it can potentially impact generations. It is particularly important during our prime & productive years between 30-60 when we have numerous unfulfilled responsibilities on our shoulders. It doesn't matter if you are wealthy or poor. It becomes more about others than you. Did you know, that heart disease is the leading cause of death among women in India, accounting for almost 18% of all female deaths, and contributes to around 25% of all deaths in the country? Prevention is any day better than seeking a cure.
