Organizations should start more conferences on Mondays. It may look annoying on paper, but it's not in real life. It's a refreshing way to kick off the week out of the office, meeting new people, and learning right away. Today, Kevin McCann and I hosted an employer brand workshop with a great group at the St. John's Board of Trade two-day Business Bootcamp. We're all craving meaning and connection to our work and the people we do it with. A great employer brand helps. We looked at the 4 main ingredients: - Vision, mission, values - Narrative - Culture - Expression Lots of companies may already have these. But it's important to be checking in on them. Do they still represent your people and business? What would be written if you started from scratch today? And how would you put it out in the world? Congrats to the dream team at the Board of Trade on yet another great event. I'm so glad it's around when I first moved to this special city. Awesome reminders for why I, and so many others, did it all in the first place, and surrounded by cool people doing cool things. P.S. it obviously rained today and the fog is thick too.

Local collaboration in an online world: it works!! Anyone who's dipped their toes into event planning knows it's a whirlwind of DMs going this way and that! But that passion, along with a huge thank-you to Purple | PR behind the scenes, resulted in a great testament to the magic of collaboration. With Jibs, Lerin, Mysha, and Mr. C Hotels joining forces, we embarked on an ambitious journey that showcased the strength of community-driven initiatives. 2024 is turning quite quickly into my event era! And why not start off the events that I have helped with organising with a meeting of a client for the first time too? The amazing Suzanne Edmond has been on the Hudson Admin Support client list since early this year. A wonderful connection from the equally wonderful Sara P. (who I need to treat to lunch soon)! I still have the fear of starting with a new client, even after 4.5 years of business and having worked with over 30 businesses. Will they let me embed myself and support them? Will I be able to deliver the main goals in the first three months to make the change they want? Do I still have it? Whatever "it" actually is that has served me well this far. After not taking a new direct client for myself in over a year I felt like it was going to be a challenge, to get back into onboarding and learning the ways of a new business. Each of my clients is completely different, and that is something that I love and thrive on. After a few weeks of working with Suzanne, I very quickly realised that we are incredibly similar and her drive to achieve is unfaltering. We are similar not in our skill sets, but in our thoughts, our forward thinking and our aim to work with people that bring the best out in us. I love to learn from my clients, and each of them has taught me so much about myself. And Suzanne is no different. I've learned to breathe before talking (😉), that great minds do think alike, and I have learnt to explain and communicate better. This is not surprising as Suzanne is the Comms Consultant to beat all Comms Consultants! She is building Moxy Communications Ltd her way. The moxy tag line Be brave Be bold Be different Something that we all need to do as business owners. One of the business dreams was to organise events, and last night what an event it was. Moxy celebrated 2 years of business at AllBright Mayfair. An amazing venue, team and ethos. It was wonderful to meet a plethora of Moxy supporters, people whom I can now put faces to email addresses and support Suzanne in a well-deserved evening, as well of course meet her in person. Virtual and remote life is wonderful, however, meeting and celebrating hard work and achievements with clients in person is another level. How often are you meeting clients in person? #Celebrate

💪 Larger, more impactful meetings & events - In 2024, Bien Venue saw a 44.9% growth in average delegates per event, which tells us a story – businesses are bringing teams together at scale to encourage internal communication and engagement, strengthen culture, and work towards business goals. For our clients, the trend represents greater numbers at roadshows AND whole-company conferences. It’s certainly a change from our previous observation of large-scale conferences being replaced by roadshow communications events. Both event types are now gaining popularity. In terms of 2025 event trends, we expect continued investment in impactful events as organisations double down on the value of in-person connection – of all types – to inspire their teams and drive results.
