Taylor Swift finally gave “This Is What You Came For” the Eras Tour treatment this past weekend at Liverpool… oh to be in the United Kingdom that night to witness such glory.
So in honor of the song being played for the first time since her 2016 Formula One US Grand Prix concert in Austin, TX, thought to polish off a Reputation (Taylor’s Version) project I started a few months ago with what I’ve been doing lately.
It combines what I have been posting this week, with more focus on the vinyl and CD designs. I really wanted to stay faithful to the original 2017 album with minor enhancements (i.e. recent photos, more snake and tour imagery to represent what the album means to fans, etc) and reflect what Taylor has been doing for The Tortured Poets Department campaign. Also paid homage to her 2017 Target CD magazine editions of Reputation. From what I remember, the purpose of making magazine editions of Reputation was on play of the newspaper motifs appearing across the album. It was essentially her re-claiming her reputation and putting her truth out there on her own terms, which I found such defiance against cancel culture empowering and inspiring.
Disclaimer: as mentioned on the deck, the primary pictures were taken from the TIME’s 2023 Person of the Year photoshoot where Taylor was in the spotlight. This was due to penned by fans and public alike how the photos were very “Rep-coded.”
