Get to know our team! This month we’re happy to introduce you to Cammeron Barnden, Environmental Consultant, at Helia EHS in our Melbourne office. Q: In 25 words or less, what is your professional background? A: Before starting my career as a Hazmat consultant, I was in the medical field for roughly 12 years. In 2019 I changed career pathways and started my journey in consulting. Q: What’s your finest professional hour or highlight in your working life so far (e.g. project, people, training, etc)? A: Working for a client at a refinery, being taught new processes by an amazing mentor with the learning curve of a brick wall, but also having the confidence in myself and others having the confidence in me, to successfully complete stage 2 works unsupervised. Q: What’s your cultural heritage? Can you speak another language? A: No, I cannot speak another language unfortunately, my background family lines traces back to the Scottish and the Greeks - it’s a bit of a unique mix. Q: What’s surprised you in your time at Helia / What opportunities were you most looking forward to when you joined Helia / What have you taken advantage of since joining Helia? A: Since joining Helia I have been very surprised with all the support that is available personally and professionally. People at Helia listen to what you have to say weather it may be improvements, ideas or social. When I first joined Helia I was looking to further expand on my skills and have come a long way in a short amount of time, as well as being able to gain several qualifications and upskilling. Q: What hobbies, pastimes, etc do you enjoy doing out of work? A: I’m very art orientated I have been since I was young, I follow Melbourne Storm, and when I can my partner and I hike through the mountains near where we live. Helia EHS.
