Leaving #CGI23 with a profound sense of inspiration and grounded determination. Over the course of two enriching days, I had the privilege of listening to the stories of individuals who tirelessly devote themselves to catalysing positive change. Witnessing their unwavering commitment and resilience is nothing short of awe-inspiring, prompting introspection on how I, too, can contribute to this transformative journey. An enormous thank you to Clinton Global Initiative for opening up the space to engage in critical conversations about the pressing global challenges we face today. At the same time, as New York filled itself for the UNGA and Climate Week, and as events multiplied by the second and networking reached unprecedented heights, it's crucial to question if amidst all of this we are able to hear – loud and clear -- the voices of those those whose challenges we are dedicated to addressing. This dilemma, of course, is nothing new. The ‘seat at the table’ narrative has now been circulating for many years. Nonetheless, I question how far we have truly gone to not only add seats but also remove seats. The collective mission to effect meaningful change requires us to not just listen, but to champion and prioritise the voices of those most affected by the issues at hand.
