Amazing day of energizing conversations with The Majurity Trust yesterday! I was especially blown away by the work Adriana Rasip and the team at Empowered Families Initiative are doing in #communitydrivenchange. I took away so many powerful lessons 💡their model provides support and the platform for the families to build relationships of trust and mutual accountability, focusing on aspirations not simply needs 💡the families are at the center, articulating what matters to them, and EFI comes alongside them to support 💡the guiding question being - ‘is this a decision the families can make?’ Truly leaning into empowering the families to decide the best path forward 💡this is a process of unlearning as much as learning - unlearning our assumptions and biases of what works This model shows the power of community driven change. A $3300 investment per family leads to 🎉 21% increase in average income of the family 🎉 100% of debt and arrears cleared 🎉 141% increase in savings collectively Bridgespan’s research has shown how community driven change has the power to enable more sustainable and inclusive social development.
