How to Make a Seamless Switch Are you thinking about upgrading your point-of-sale and inventory management system? Or maybe you've already decided to make the switch but you're feeling a bit overwhelmed. I understand the feeling, it can be daunting - receive my hugs- but you'll agree it is more important to have a robust inventory management system. If you're already observing differences in your inventory records and what you count physically for example , that's a red flag and having the right tools in place, will also help you reduce losses. As a loss prevention expert, here is my advice for you. You should consider features that strengthen your loss prevention efforts such as: 1. 📊 Real-time inventory tracking 2. 🔔 Low-stock alerts 3. 🚨 Automated discrepancy alerts & reports 4. 🔒 User access controls with audit trails Secondly, have a focus on the major features or problems you want to solve (itemize and prioritize them). Then, Ask for a demo session. Let the software vendors show you live how to use their product. Ask questions to investigate your preferences and ensure it can deliver your required results. One tip here: Don't settle for less. Make sure your choice builds on your already preferred objectives. For example, if you’ve been using software that captures customer data, sales, marketing, and loyalty effectively, and now you need a robust inventory management system, don’t choose an option that makes you lose the customer data advantage. Don’t settle for less. Also, you don't always have to seek another technological vendor. Speak with your current vendors about your pain points and needs; many will use this feedback to improve and integrate what you need into their system quickly. Finally, the last step is yours alone. No amount of training can do this for you. You have to be explorative. Make sure you are using your software and inventory tools to their fullest. Don’t be afraid to try out new tabs and segments.
