This Engineering #RSCEng front cover is for all our Project M Scientists. We appreciate you and your contributions to #CitizenScience and to #Chemistry. Our project would not have been the same without you, and it was an honour to be co-authors together on our paper! https://lnkd.in/een7KtQF This was figuratively and literally a dream to work with Claudia Flandoli on. I woke up in the middle of the night and sketched out an idea on my phone at 1.44 am. It was awful but had enough that Claudia was able to create this masterpiece from it. For the Diamond Light Source and Lightsources.org fans, we suggest you take a close look at the magnifying glass! She understood all the key points: that we wanted to represent our Project M Scientists, that we wanted to include some clear links to the science and that we wanted it to be a celebration. I think you will agree that she hit the mark on all points, no? This is a point I refer to a lot. Projects like this are about the science but also more than the science. They are unique ways of collaborating with communities to share skills and ideas. (we wrote a whole paper about that! Check it out: https://lnkd.in/ePjjNV8K) Let us know what you think of our front cover!

Dear research buddies Glad to inform that my paper is now available online. It focus on how technology can be used to capture the latent learning indicators of a student. It opens up huge opportunities and can help towards paradigm shift of assessing the student. It's a step towards #personalizedlearning #Multimodallearninganalytics #educationaltechnology Thanks to Prof. Uma Mudenagudi, my PhD supervisor for guiding me. You can find the paper in the link below https://lnkd.in/gTghpfev To cite: Mallibhat, K., & Mudenagudi, U. (2024). Specialist in the Digital Transformation of Education - Integrated Circuit (IC) Design Engineer -AI@EDU
In the context of my first master's thesis titled "Pedagogical design of laboratory exercises in a university environment for measurements in electrical circuits," during the modernization of the Circuits and Systems Laboratory of the Department of Computer Science and Telecommunications of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens with new laboratory equipment (Tektronix , Tektronix Europe, Keithley Instruments (A Tektronix Company) ), educational material adapted to the new laboratory instruments was written in the form of laboratory exercises. Two semesters (academic year 2019-2020 and 2021-2022 respectively) were required for the development and formulation of the educational material. In particular, there were created exercises for voltage and current measurements using a digital multimeter, measurements with the oscilloscope and visualization of time-varying signals, as well as RC integration circuit - Filters. At the same time, the theoretical part of the laboratory exercises required as background was written, as well as manuals for the use of the new equipment. The basis of the pedagogical approach for the development of the new educational material was the Exploratory Learning, incorporating selected elements from the Universal Design for Learning and selected principles of Distance Education. It includes action, experimentation, research and inquiry, argumentation and meaning-making, collaboration, the use of alternative forms and sources of educational material, as well as a modern and functional graphic design. The proposed educational material was tested under real conditions in the context of the educational process! After studying and using the educational material, both old and new, in two different academic years, students were asked to evaluate it through questionnaires. Through the analysis of the questionnaires, the students' clear preference for the new educational material and its contribution to a better understanding of the laboratory exercises and the theoretical concepts of the course was evident. 75% of the students agreed that the new teaching material was more understandable, clear and explanatory than the old one. Also, 82% agreed that the appendices contained in the new material were more understandable and complete than those contained in the previous laboratory guide. #universitypedagogy, #electricalcircuits, #Tektronix, #laboratoryexercises, #inquirymethod, #UDLapproach, #principlesofdistantlearning

Interesting result from the IEEE Taskforce report on "Innovative Teaching Methods for Modern Power and Energy Systems". The plot shows what the current power industries need and what we're teaching.
