Our hearts are with those affected by the LA wildfires, and we don’t want to see this happen again. A few things to consider: Active forest and vegetation management will reduce communities’ wildfire risk. Furthermore, using satellites, cameras, drones, artificial intelligence, predictive algorithms, and other innovative technologies can help prevent and detect wildfires – and help with timely communication with residents. Making homes more fire-resilient is another cost-effective measure. Welcomingly, policymakers at the federal and state levels are turning their attention to prevention, leaning into the expression: an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. Here at JBA we integrate the most innovative technologies and data into everything we do. For many years we've harnessed #RemoteSensingTechnology - the collection of data by #Satellites, aerial sensors, drones or ground sensors across different spatial, temporal and spectral resolutions - for a diverse range of projects. #RemoteSensing allows us to capture data about sites and assets in otherwise hard-to-reach locations. Which in turn reduces the time, cost and carbon footprint associated with in-person data capture. From large-scale catchment analysis and coastal monitoring to flood forecasting and land-cover monitoring, discover how we're harnessing remote sensing technology to deliver #CarbonSaving solutions for our clients. 👉 https://lnkd.in/eEhdeYiz

Modern technology is improving the way people go about fire incident occurrence and fire responses. Studies have pointed out that technologies such as GIS and remote sensing have turned out to be indispensable in mapping of fire hazards and in identifying how fires are likely to spread. This precision results in improved determination of evacuation strategies and efficient use of resources. But that's not all. AI drones and real-time surveillance are currently in focus to give valuable input in ongoing fires. These technologies help in quick response and efficient strategies to mitigate the loss of human and the properties. We see how disaster management is being impacted by modern technology. Now it is time to discuss innovations that help to create a safer environment for all of us. #CaliforniaInferno #WildfireMitigation #DisasterPreparedness #FireResilience #CommunitySafety #TechForDisasterResponse #Research #DisasterManagement #Technology #Innovation #FireSafety #AI #Drones #GIS

Forest fires have long been a challenge, but new research into real-time image processing could change how we detect and manage these disasters. 🌲 A team in China has developed a new fire detection model that’s more accurate and efficient than current methods. What’s fascinating is how this system uses image segmentation to differentiate flames from their forest background, pinpointing small fires before they escalate. This could drastically improve emergency responses and minimize the devastating effects on the environment and local communities. Unlike traditional systems like ground sensors or satellites, this approach could work even in challenging weather conditions using drones. 🚁 It's a promising development, especially as it reduces maintenance costs and increases adaptability. If you're curious about how this technology could reshape fire detection and disaster management, I really recommend you check out the full article. What do you think about drones being used to prevent large-scale fires? #FireSafety #TechInnovation #RealTimeMonitoring

Smart rainforests will soon be a reality. 🤩 ClimateForce has partnered with us to make this a possibility in Australia’s Daintree Rainforest. We’re leveraging our revolutionary Smart Management Platform (SMP) to achieve this. SMP tracks and analyzes soil, water, air and the weather using geographic information systems (GIS), Lidar, drones and other optical sensors that support predictive analytics. Together, we’re doing our part to regenerate a razed section of rainforest and bring back biodiversity to the Daintree. ▶️ Watch the video to find out how: https://bit.ly/3WZsFaT #NTTDATAAPAC #Deforestation #BioDiversity #CaseStudy

Humans have created an Urban Planet. The vast majority of us live in and around cities and towns. This means that wildfires that start between communities and forests — interface fires — are deadly and cause huge damage. That's why I'm part of SkyScoutAI.com. We are using AI, satellites, drones and non-toxic fire retardants to detect, respond to and even stop these terrible wildfires before they get out of control. Global News reported on our technology. If you see a place where it can be used, or you want to help, let me know. https://lnkd.in/g5rV7KwC
