SEBI seeks changes to CSR rules to include donations via SSE SEBI has proposed amendments to the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) rules under the Companies Act, 2013, to include donations made through Social Stock Exchanges (SSEs) as part of eligible CSR activities. The proposed amendments aim to allow companies to fulfill their CSR activities by donating through SSEs thereby facilitating funding for non-profit organizations registered on SSEs, potentially enhancing their ability to secure resources for social welfare initiatives. Currently, companies can donate to non-profit organisations outside of SSEs under their CSR activities. They cannot, however, fund non-profit organisations through SSEs to fulfil their CSR mandate. SEBI's initiative reflects a progressive approach towards integrating financial markets with social impact investments, fostering a more structured and transparent method for companies to engage in social welfare activities. #SEBI #CSR #SSE #CorporateLaw #SEBI #SecuritiesMarket #CentralGovernment #ICSI #ICAI #ICMAI #CSVasudevaRaoDevaki

The charity sector is poised for significant change alongside the new Labour government - but how so? We can anticipate a renewed focus on social welfare, community support, and tackling inequality, which may bring increased funding opportunities for charities working in these areas. However, with potential shifts in policy, charities will need to ensure these align with new priorities while advocating for the causes that matter most to their communities. It's certainly an exciting time, but also one that requires strategic adaptation from the sector to make the most of the evolving landscape. Thoughts?👇
