Hi Folks👋 Recently, I came across a post by Nithin Kamath co-founder of Zerodha highlighting a stark reality: "𝗠𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝗜𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗮𝗻𝘀 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗵𝗼𝘀𝗽𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘇𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝘄𝗮𝘆 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗯𝗮𝗻𝗸𝗿𝘂𝗽𝘁𝗰𝘆" This statement sheds light on a pressing issue that many of us may overlook until it hits home. 🏥 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗥𝗲𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 😥 Healthcare costs in India can be staggering, and a sudden medical emergency can quickly drain savings and plunge families into debt. With rising medical expenses, inadequate insurance coverage, and limited access to affordable healthcare, many are left vulnerable. 🔍 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗜𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗰𝘁 1.𝗙𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘀 Families often find themselves in a precarious situation, prioritizing medical bills over essential needs. 2.𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵 𝗗𝗲𝗰𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 The fear of high costs can lead individuals to delay or avoid necessary medical treatments, worsening health outcomes. 3.𝗘𝗺𝗼𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗧𝗼𝗹𝗹 The stress and anxiety surrounding financial challenges can lead to long-term mental health issues. 💡 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗮𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗦𝗼𝗹𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 1. 𝗜𝗻𝘃𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗶𝗻 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵 𝗜𝗻𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲: Ensure you have comprehensive health coverage that protects against high medical costs. 2.𝗘𝗺𝗲𝗿𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗰𝘆 𝗙𝘂𝗻𝗱: Build a financial cushion specifically for healthcare emergencies to avoid dipping into savings or accruing debt. 3.𝗥𝗲𝗴𝘂𝗹𝗮𝗿 𝗖𝗵𝗲𝗰𝗸-𝘂𝗽𝘀: Preventive care can help detect issues early, reducing the need for costly treatments later. 4.𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗔𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀: Engage in discussions about healthcare access and advocate for better policies to support vulnerable populations. As we reflect on this important statement, let’s consider our own health strategies and Together, we can work towards a future where quality healthcare is accessible to all, without the fear of financial ruin. Healthcare in India is one of the strongest in the whole world. - a privileged person's story If you can afford (90% on linkedin can), you should be utterly grateful for how fast things happen here. Might be controversial, but I have strong reasons for it. Yesterday, one of my clients reported low libido and depressive symptoms. I had them • Free testosterone • SHBG (sex hormone binding globulin) • Prolactin tests done. Blood sample was collected the next morning. Reports arrived the same evening. On the other hand, my international clients struggle to simply get a 'full body blood panel' done, forget about doctor appointments. The long waiting time and painful systems make them ignore their symptoms and ultimately, their health. Healthcare to me is : 1. Immediate attention 2. Rest to my anxiety 3. Early detection followed by treatment I don't care that it's free, when the above things are not taken care of. Free services are not worth a 2 year wait period. Would you let a disease progress that much? ----------- In India, patients get immediate/next day appointments, same day reports, and speedy services. Even if it's privatised, our healthcare system is solid. We have failed to appreciate the ease and convenience of it. And hence, I get disgusted when we get lazy and ignorant about it.

I've recently kicked off two major projects in the central suburbs of Mumbai aimed at improving #MentalHealth among underprivileged teens and early #BreastCancer detection and treatment for underprivileged women, with support from Rotary, top agencies and institutions. There's been a lot of expert analysis on the Union Budget and its impact on the healthcare sector. There have indeed been few misses such as senior citizens. But what really caught my eye is the significant benefits for both the areas - MENTAL WELLNESS and BREAST CANCER. The 12.96% increase in the Health Ministry's budget signifies a robust commitment to bolstering healthcare infrastructure and services. This is fantastic news! But what truly made my day was the Cancer Treatment Relief. The full exemption of customs duties on three crucial cancer drugs - Trastuzumab Deruxtecan, Osimertinib, and Durvalumab - will bring substantial financial relief to cancer patients, especially those fighting breast cancer. Making these essential treatments more affordable and accessible is a game-changer. This exemption is a pivotal step towards reducing the financial burden on breast cancer patients. These drugs are vital for effective treatment, and making them more affordable will significantly improve access to life-saving therapies. This budget highlights a clear focus on patient-centric policies, especially for those battling severe health conditions like cancer. The National Tele Mental Health Programme's budget increase to ₹90 crore underscores the growing recognition of mental health needs. To sweeten the deal, the increase in the Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojna (PM-JAY) budget to ₹7,300 crore will expand healthcare coverage and benefits to more citizens. Maintaining a steady budget of ₹200 crore for the National Digital Health Mission highlights ongoing efforts to digitize healthcare records and improve service delivery. Overall a good day for many of us in #Healthcare industry. #UnionBudget2024 #CancerTreatment #NationalHealthMission #PMJAY #DigitalHealth #Rotary Pic courtesy: Economics Times

LinkedIn Top voice II On mission to demystify and simplify the process of building substantial wealth
Are you a “REAL” Crorepati ❓ 🔰 If you invest 15K per month for the next 15 years, generating 15% per annum returns, you will become a crorepati. But what will be the worth of 1 Crore after 15 years? It will be worth half based on the latest inflation. Then you will NOT be a Crorepati in real terms❗️ Here comes the important concept of real-rate-of-returns (RROR) 1 Crore today = 2.4 Crore after 15 years Considering RROR, you will need to contribute approx. 63K per month for next 15 years, generating 15% per annum returns. You will be a Crorepati in today’s term with corpus of 2.4 Cr after 15 years. P.S: What are your thoughts ❓ ----------------------------------------------------------------------- 🔔Book your FREE consultation Call and let me help accelerate your wealth-creation journey 📌 Booking link in the bio and pinned comment.

Yesterday, #India paved the way for dignified healthcare for its aging population above 70. With a population of over 1.4 billion, India's healthcare transformation is a marathon, not a sprint. Remember when affordable healthcare for our parents and grandparents felt like a distant dream? Many insurance companies either excluded them entirely due to anticipated high claims, or offered plans with premiums out of reach for low & middle-income families. This groundbreaking policy isn't just about access to care – it's a powerful statement about dignity and equality empowering a generation. This empowers a huge section of the society to prioritize their well-being without financial burdens, marking a significant leap in India's healthcare journey for our most vulnerable. Let's create a future where quality healthcare is a right, not a privilege, for everyone, everywhere. 🏥 Healthcare in India is a scam 💀. Why? Here's what you need to know - Way too many doctors 👨🏻⚕️👩🏻⚕️ and labs 🔬 competing for patients means the ones who bribe 🤑 for referrals are the only ones that thrive. - This practice has become well-established in cities and towns. A general practitioner or specialist refers 💬 to another specialist or a lab who then pays kickbacks 💫 as a percentage % of the bill 📃 - The going rates for lab 🔬 tests, including CT/MRI scans are 20% - 40% and the going rates for referrals to a hospital 🏥 or doctor 👨⚕️ are 10% - 50% of the total bill. - The hidden preference of doctors 👨⚕️ and others to send patients to the entity providing the greatest commissions 🤑 means it's a race to the bottom 💀. - The ones providing top money 🔝 are the ones who get enough patients 👨👩👧👦 to realize economies of scale ✨ and make profits 💲💲💲. The rest perish 😢. - As a result, few ruthless, cut-throat, and unethical players dominate the market 👔. Prices are sky-high 💹, go up all the time by a lot ⏫, and incorporate so many hidden, illegal charges that you never get to see 🙈. - Patients 👨👩👧👦 are not the only ones affected. Conscientious doctors 👨🏻⚕️👩🏻⚕️ and lab service providers 👩🏻🔬👨🏻🔬 also suffer. There are some doctors who are reluctant 😓 but forced by peer pressure and family expectations 🧐 into complicity 🙈 or eager participation 😈. - The government needs to come down hard ⚖ on this malaise before it leads to the demise of Indian healthcare 🕯️. Currently, the government is turning a blind eye 🙈 to the colossal corruption happening right underneath its nose 👃🏻. Please add your comments and suggestions below 🔽

Sometimes the enormity of the numbers is realised only when you become part of the process!! That’s what’s happening with me as I complete my 3rd Quarter in the space of #HealthcareFinancing with AyushPay Today, only 37% of #Indians have an #healthInsurance and approx 30% are covered by the government under some scheme. That means close to 40-50Cr Indians are playing Russian Roulette with their #Health and #Finances.. Some Mind blowing numbers for you as published by #Forbes and other healthcare reports- -In India, we #spend roughly around 120 Billion INR out of pocket on #healthcare annually. -Healthcare expenditure (% of total household`s expense): Up to 26% in FY23. -5.5 Crore #Indians were pushed below #poverty line due to healthcare costs, as per a 2018 report. -Govt is spending 2.1% of the #GDP on Healthcare in FY23, where as US spends 18% of their GDP -In 2021, #cancer, circulatory system diseases, and #Covid-19 were the main cost drivers of medical claims in Asia, with respiratory and gastrointestinal diseases and Covid-19 being the most frequently claimed. -Social security cost incurred by the govt for #healthcare: Up from 6% in FY14 to 9.6% in FY19 What’s concerning is the current state of health insurance penetration in India. While the overall healthcare sector is growing, a significant gap remains in ensuring financial security for citizens facing medical emergencies. While fancy equipment and swanky hospitals are all the rage, a massive chunk of the population is left exposed to skyrocketing medical costs without any cover. As a result, people are delaying treatment, facing financial ruin, and a healthcare system under immense pressure. #FUNFACT— 30% of the total #loans taken in India are for Medical Treatments.. Majority of #uninsured Indians end up taking medical loans at interest rates ranging between 20% to 30%. This ain't a recipe for a financially healthy nation! #HealthcareFinancing #MedicalLending #MedicalTreatments #AyushPay
