The United States Marine Corps is making significant strides in enhancing its network and command-and-control capabilities as part of the Pentagon's broader initiative to connect military weapons and sensors. Kevin Murray marine, the Corps' technology lead, shared updates on their efforts during the Modern Day Marine conference. Murray emphasized the critical role of data in enabling effective small-unit operations and cooperation with coalition forces. The Marine Corps is actively involved in Project Dynamis, their contribution to the Combined Joint All-Domain Command and Control (CJADC2) initiative. They are also working on a network unification plan to ensure seamless connectivity. To achieve integration with other branches and allies, the Marine Corps is aligning its efforts with various initiatives like the Joint Fires Network, Project Overmatch, Project Convergence, DAF Battle Network, and the Advanced Battle Management System. Collaboration and interoperability are essential for future joint operations. The Corps is also focusing on network modernization to extend the Marine Corps Enterprise Network to the tactical edge. By leveraging cloud computing and processing power, Marines in the field can access and process significant amounts of data. Unifying the network will enable them to connect to larger data clouds while remaining operational even when connectivity is compromised. Furthermore, network unification offers cybersecurity benefits by streamlining and defending the network against cyber threats. The Marine Corps aims to create a more secure and resilient network architecture to support their operations effectively. The Marine Corps' commitment to advancing network and command-and-control capabilities reflects their dedication to joint operations and ensuring their systems seamlessly integrate with those of their allies. #MarineCorps #Technology #CommandAndControl #Data #CJADC2 #Interoperability #Collaboration #NetworkModernization #CloudComputing #Cybersecurity #NetworkDefense #DefenseTechnology #MilitaryNews #Marines #Technology #CommandAndControl #CJADC2 #Interoperability #Collaboration #Data #NetworkModernization #CloudComputing #Cybersecurity #DefenseNews

At the intersection of telecommunications, mainframe computer and avionic engineering - with pilot and aero engineer training in the mix for a few decades. Ex EI, GF and CX plus contract work for a multitude of others.
The 'radio' part of the frequency #spectrum may be invisible but it is the most expensive real estate on earth - and is the enabler for many industries, including civil #aviation. Timely return on investment in #aircraft and passenger services depends on interference free #avionic #communications, #navigation and #surveillance as key elements in maximizing operational #efficiency. With increasing pressure on spectrum #regulators to “find” more spectrum in the “national interest”, the hard lessons from the flawed #5G rollout need to be heeded. #FCC #FAA #RTCA #NTIA #CTIA #CNS #Radio #RadioFrequency #Interference #RFI #AdjacentBand #WXRDR #RADALT #HF #VHF #UHF #LBand #SBand #Sharing #Coexistence
