Our CEO, Mallory, started Cactus Cancer Society because, as a young adult cancer survivor, she wanted to address the biggest needs among young adults facing cancer. We need connection to one another, for our concerns to be validated, and we need a place where we can process everything that cancer brings into our lives. At Cactus Cancer Society, we’ve learned that if we intentionally build a safe space and design an engaging activity, young adults facing cancer will come to validate one another’s concerns, hold space for what they are each going through, and that our programs will decrease their anxiety, depression, psychological distress, and feelings of loneliness. By the end of the year, our goal is to raise $7,000 to provide 200 supply boxes for our Builders Workshops. Each $35 donated provides a supply box for a Builders Workshop for a young adult facing cancer. Your donation creates the space necessary for these young adults to come together, to validate one another’s concerns, to hold space for what they are each going through, and to build desperately-needed community. Will you help us reach our goal?
