If I were a developer at Workday, I would focus on enhancing the user experience by streamlining the registration and sign-in process for job applicants. Currently, applicants must create a new account for every job they apply for on Workday, which can be cumbersome and inefficient. Instead, I propose a single registration and sign-in system that allows users to apply for multiple jobs without repeatedly creating new accounts. While the application process and questions may vary from company to company, this approach would significantly reduce the burden on applicants, saving them the hassle of creating 200+ new accounts each week. Additionally, several features could be implemented to further improve the experience: 1. Unified Job Dashboard: All job applications, along with their respective organizations and statuses, can be displayed on a single, user-friendly dashboard. This would allow applicants to easily track their progress and manage their applications in one place. 2. Cross-Company Data Transfer: Implementing cross-company data transfer could streamline the candidate verification process, reducing the time and effort required for background checks and other verification steps. I am confident that many of you have experienced similar frustrations while applying for jobs through Workday. Please share your thoughts and feedback on this proposal. Is it just me, or is Workday possibly the worst way to apply for a position? So many things could be easily improved in their UX and I have to believe there is better way to tie together applications to multiple employers that use Workday. Is there a universal Workday application process I do not know about? (btw...I understand the privacy concerns here but if the person is opting in and pushing their profile to a company on the platform without showing other jobs they've applied to or sharing other non-pertinent information, this shouldn't be an issue.) Also, I don't believe in complaining without proposing a solution, so if there are any Workday folks in my network, I'd be happy to provide specific information / small changes you could make that would greatly enhance the experience for the applicants. No shade...just want to make this better since so many companies use this tool. :)

I wonder if anyone working at Workday actually uses/tests their software as a job applicant?! Do they know it SUCKS? The number of negative posts on LinkedIn and elsewhere about the UX isn't a hint? Or is it down to how Workday is implemented by the customer? And since so many companies use Workday, really, do I have to enter the same information in on every instance of Workday used by employers? It's the 21st century....there are data management methods and tech available to make this work. Yep, I've even heard of people who will not apply for a job if a company uses Workday. Yep, applicant experience isn't Workday's paying customer. Could mean that employers don't care about applicant experience? Workday could sell to those employers that do... Folks at Workday - drop me a line and we can discuss CX/UX, product management, and data management. I can help fix the pain your product causes to job hunters the world over and make Workday more attractive to companies who want to not piss off talent even before they join.

A UX Designer friend of mine shared some complaints about WorkDay, the recruiting company. She wondered if companies would use WorkDay if they really knew just how bad the experience was for the candidates. A few key complaints she mentioned are: 1) Although you upload a resume, you still have to enter in all of the same information. 2) You have to create a new account for each company that uses WorkDay (she has over a dozen accounts, now) 3) You have to start from scratch every time you apply using WorkDay. They don't save any of your information. 4) She also said it felt very impersonal and didn't make her feel good about the companies she applied to. My opinion is that we should all be boycotting WorkDay. Their UX is abominable and any company who uses WorkDay is probably not that responsive to employee needs. Are you sure you want to work for a company who treats you like that from the very beginning? I wonder, too, if anyone has ever been hired by applying through the WorkDay application tool. P.S. My friend is not someone you would likely know, but she doesn't want to publicly expose her disdain for WorkDay to potential hiring managers. She really needs the work. #workday #badUX

UKG your employees deliver you these excellent results and you respond by firing 2,200 of them on July 3rd. Okta did similar thing earlier in the year (although they fired less than 1K folks. They didn't go crazy like UKG and chop 2,200 in one day). This should serve as a lesson to ALL EMPLOYEES everywhere. ALWAYS FOLLOW THE MONEY. When another company offers you more money ALWAYS TAKE IT. Remember it's not personal. It's business. Be loyal to whomever pays you the most in the moment because the one who pays you the most appreciates you the most. Money talks.

“My experience working with Kforce Inc” From Carl Hargis, Jr Workday Data Conversion Lead/Kforce Consultant, UWMedicine , Sept 2022 to Sept 2023 Kforce provided me a completely pleasant experience when Kory Pope first reached out to me in August of 2022 and his follow up was fantastic. Once we determined I was a good fit for a Workday Finance Data Conversion Lead role at UWMedicine, these things happened within 1 week: **Kory called me “You’ve been submitted.” ***He followed up a few days later “I have an interview for you” ****He set up a prep call with Christa Dahlke for the panel interview, then followed up right after the interview to get my feedback. And shortly after my 2nd interview Kory called me with an offer. I was ready to accept immediately, as both Christa and Kory gave me everything, I needed to make my decision that this was the right role at the right time with the right pay for me. One of the most valuable parts of this interview process was Christa Dahlke’s interview prep call. Let me tell you why: Christa has been the Account Manager for UW Medicine for over 20 years and her interview prep included way more than just the job description. She knew the entire team, the culture, the history of this Workday Finance project, including some of the “not so great things”, which she was not shy to share. She clearly knew the history of the whole organization. What she provided was “way more” than most recruiting companies do or even know. It set me up to be so prepared and confident during the interview, it felt more like a conversation with the 5 people leadership panel as to how I would contribute and fit in. I knew I was the right fit, right then. So did they. Once I joined this team, I knew it was one of the BEST projects I’ve ever been on, because of the culture and the team. It was also one of the hardest, most complicated, and yes, our team struggled, but it was the BEST environment because of the team and the leadership. I was proud to be a part of this UWMedicine Workday Finance project team and what we accomplished together.
