Should we plan each and every thing? It's hard to believe it's been a whole year since I convocated! This picture brings back so many memories - the late nights studying, the exam pressure, and the immense sense of accomplishment after becoming a Chartered Accountant! Should we plan everything? While having a plan is important, I believe leaving room for surprises can make the journey much more enriching. Wouldn't it be less interesting if we knew every plot twist beforehand? Not knowing what lies ahead can add excitement and a sense of discovery. I think It can lead us down unexpected paths and open doors to new experiences you wouldn't have planned for ourself. After becoming a CA, I imagined myself starting my own business, getting a job, or starting my practice, but I never thought I'd be creating content and videos to help people understand money. During the journey a few things that I have learned The learning never stops: The world is constantly evolving, and staying updated on new trends and practices is very important Building relationships matters: Networking and building relationships with clients and colleagues has been key to my growth and success. Also adaptability is essential: The ability to adapt to new challenges and changes in the industry is also very crucial I'm grateful for the journey so far and excited for what lies ahead. Abdul Kalam Yes, I would not have found the better quote to start this article. It’s been few months since I have started this new journey. Embarking on a journey as a Chartered Accountant is a significant and rewarding step that opens the doors to a challenging yet fulfilling career. Once I qualified as a Chartered Accountant, a myriad of opportunities opened up. Many professionals choose to gain further experience by working in established accounting firms, corporations, or governmental bodies. However, for many of us the ultimate goal is to enter into private practice and we need to be careful in terms planning and strategic decisions. As our decisions of today will significantly impact our future plans and path. Intention was always clear, be independent still cannot be alone in this journey. Starting a practice as a Chartered Accountant involves very critical considerations in terms of planning for it at very early stage. Building a client base, and establishing a strong professional network should always be the motive even though I’m not established myself as a practicing Chartered Accountant. As they say, if your goals are clear, you are genuinely thriving for it, entire universe will automatically create an environment which supports your cause. Likewise, I’m fortunate enough to say I’m in the right hands. I joined as manager at @ANKJ & Associates few months back and I feel everything what I have desired for is falling in place. Very much grateful for the opportunity and the vibrant work culture. Kudos to my mentors @Ankit Jain & @Naman Jain for maintaining positive atmosphere at the work place and future is ahead of us many things to achieve together.   MY JOURNEY TO BECOMING A CHARTERED ACCOUNTANT: A STORY OF PERSEVERANCE AND DETERMINATION. As I reflect on my journey to becoming a chartered accountant, I am reminded of the power of resilience and determination. In 2018, fresh out of school, I knew that writing the ICAN exams was my ultimate goal. But, the enemy of procrastination crept in, whispering "start tomorrow, start next week." I struggled to overcome this obstacle, until a wake-up call during my NYSC camping, after my covid test I declared war on procrastination and registered as an ICAN student. However, a new challenge emerged - financial constraints. With a meager salary of 30,000 naira, I had to make tough choices. I divided my income into two, allocating 50% for necessities and reducing my transportation costs by trekking 50% of the way. Some may call me crazy, but I was driven by my dream. I am happy my shoe didn’t bend. Laugh!!!! Through sheer determination and sacrifice, sleepiness nights, combining work and reading, I started writing the exams, one paper at a time. And when I passed the first one, it was a boost to my confidence. I continued to work hard, and eventually, my efforts paid off. I acquired wealth of experience, changed jobs, and today, I am a proud chartered accountant with so much to learn. Success is not solely dependent on financial resources, but on the sacrifices, we make and the obstacles we overcome. Don't let the sweetness of the world distract you from your goals. Stay focused, persevere, and you shall achieve greatness." This is just a summary, and this goes to people who always tell me, you have money to be writing all these exams, it’s a building process, av shown you my starting salary in 2019. Its never easy brace yourself up. 1. Overcome procrastination by setting clear goals and taking action. Its an enemy and it steals time 2. Financial constraints should not limit your dreams; make sacrifices and find ways to overcome them. Just find way, inconvenience yourself. 3. Determination and hard work can lead to success, regardless of your background or resources. 4. Stay focused and avoid distractions to achieve your goals. 5.
