Today, we celebrate #WorldEnvironmentDay, a global initiative led by the United Nations to encourage awareness and action for the protection of our environment. 🌍 🏞️ Each year, this day highlights a specific theme and calls for transformative actions to combat pressing environmental issues. This year's theme is #LandDegradation and #LandDesertification. 🌿 Being #sustainability and #innovation among our company’s core values, we are working to #speedup nuclear reactor’s deployment through a software solution that implements #GenerativeAI to help humans in the task of designing, licensing and managing nuclear reactors and power plants worldwide. What are the main assets of #nuclearenergy for the fight against land degradation and desertification? ⚛️ ⚡ High energy density. Given the same amount of energy produced, nuclear power occupies less land compared to any other sustainable and low-emission source over the entire lifecycle. 💧 Water Desalination. Waste heat in nuclear power plants can be used to desalinate vast amounts of water to sustain agriculture and the local population while still providing electricity to the grid for other purposes. Let's use this World Environment Day as a catalyst for action and innovation. Together, we can protect our planet for future generations. ✨ #SustainableEnergy #NuclearEnergy

The world has yet again taken an important step towards a clean, green future with 22 countries across the globe pledging to triple their nuclear energy capacity. This move is expected to make a significant contribution in decreasing global emissions and combatting climate change. Just last week, Chile, the Dominican Republic, Morocco, India and the Philippines formally joined the International Atomic Energy Agency, the global nuclear energy regulator, in making the commitment with some of the countries planning to reach the target within the next five years. This announcement is the latest in a series of actions that nations are taking to shift towards a cleaner and greener energy sector and is a welcome addition at a time when the world is seeing a growing pressure to urgently reduce carbon emissions. Nuclear energy is an increasingly attractive option due to its low carbon footprint, abundance of resources and cost-effectiveness. It is a reliable and sustainable source of energy that is unlikely to be affected by extreme weather events or fuel pricing. The triple nuclear capacity pledge is a positive reflection of the global community's desire to tackle climate change. This milestone in climatic change action marks a positive step towards a sustainable and secure energy sector. #NuclearEnergy #ENERGY #ClimateChange

🤔 Why is nuclear power perceived as scary but not actually dangerous? Recently, during my flight, I had the opportunity to delve into Oliver Stone's thought-provoking documentary, "Nuclear Now." This documentary presents a compelling case for why ⚛️ nuclear power, often seen as scary, might not be as ☢️ dangerous as we perceive it to be. I highly recommend this documentary to anyone interested in gaining a deeper understanding of climate change and the potential solutions that extend beyond 🌱 renewable energy sources. As the 🌎 world grapples with the devastating effects of continued 🔥fossil fuel usage, we are finally awakening to the influence wielded by large oil companies and the tactics that have enriched a select few for generations. Oliver Stone takes us on a journey with unprecedented access to the nuclear industry in France, Russia, and the United States. Through his lens, we explore the possibility of a brighter future where nuclear energy plays a pivotal role in addressing climate change and securing our survival. It's an💡option that deserves serious consideration as we confront the urgent challenges of our time. The case of Germany's substantial investment in renewable energy highlights that this alone is insufficient to effectively reduce greenhouse gas emissions and meet our ever-growing energy demands. 💡🍃 Let's join the conversation about nuclear energy, climate action, and the future of our planet. 🌱🌏💡 #NuclearPower #ClimateAction #ClimateChange #RenewableEnergy

With a growing global poplulation and along with it human needs, leaders has to take man-created climate change seriously. Although it has a bad reputation, future carbon-free nuclear technology and power is sure to play a role. I just learned of the developments in marine nuclear technology (Google "Core Power"). Before that, I wrote an article on the importance of all nuclear power development which will address all current nuclear power risks, costs and dangers. The article is called "Climate challenges call for open solutions", (https://lnkd.in/gnhGte_8)

During the World Climate Action Summit of the 28th Conference of the Parties to the U.N. Framework Convention on Climate Change today, more than 20 countries from four continents launched the Declaration to Triple Nuclear Energy. The Declaration recognizes the key role of nuclear energy in achieving global net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050 and keeping the 1.5-degree goal within reach. Core elements of the declaration include working together to advance a goal of tripling nuclear energy capacity globally by 2050 and inviting shareholders of international financial institutions to encourage the inclusion of nuclear energy in energy lending policies. Read more here🔽 https://lnkd.in/dYjJhha2 ________________________________ My thoughts 💭 Africa is one of those 4 continent🌍 While #nuclearpower is regarded as a clean energy source due to its low carbon emission in comparison with fossil fuels, it is important we ask ourselves the following questions; 🔺Are we really ready for nuclear power? 🔺Do we have the technology to needed to triple our production by 2050? 🔺Do we have the right policies and practice in place to manage radioactive waste? (Keep in mind that there’s a huge gap in Municipal waste management in Africa, which is already impacting public health) Nuclear power is 2nd largest source of clean energy that provides base load (which makes it very attractive because it guarantees energy security) but properly managing the radioactive waste and it’s initial investment is not something that should be overlooked. Ps: Energy access, transition and net zero is a global goal. What are your thoughts on tripling our nuclear power ? And how long do you think it takes to completely set up a nuclear power plant?☢️ Let’s discuss 🔽 Image source: Energy Warden #nuclearpower #cop28 #cop28uae #netzero2050 #energyaccess

Great to learn more about Nuclear and how it might be applicable in Australia.
🌍 Today's session at the World Climate Summit was a game-changer in understanding nuclear energy's potential in our journey to net-zero emissions. Here are some key takeaways: 💡 Transitioning to Nuclear: * A shift from coal to nuclear not only doubles efficiency but also preserves community jobs. * Co-locating nuclear plants at existing coal sites avoids the need for new transmission lines – a smart, sustainable move. * Embracing Small Modular Reactors (SMRs) could revolutionize how we think about energy - they're portable, efficient, and perfect for diverse locations like ports or industrial sites. * 🤝 Global Support & Challenges: * Groups like Youth for Nuclear , Norway Greens and Mothers for Nuclear are championing this clean energy shift. * Surprisingly, Australia is the only G20 nation with a nuclear ban - a policy that's worth rethinking in the face of climate challenges. * 🚀 The Road Ahead: * We discussed a potential 10-15 year nuclear roadmap for Australia, starting with a full energy audit. * The versatility of SMRs was a highlight - they've been used in submarines for decades and now offer a beacon of hope for disaster relief and even powering desalination plants. * 🌿 Nuclear & Environment: * Nuclear energy isn't just about power; it's about protecting our planet. It has the lowest impact on ecosystems and could save vast tracts of land, both solar site and transmission lines. * 💬 The Human Aspect: * The session emphasized the human side of climate change - addressing energy poverty with tangible solutions. * If we're in a climate crisis and have a solution like nuclear, why not use it? As we wrapped up, the message was clear: embracing nuclear energy is not just about adopting new technology; it's about innovating our way through the climate crisis. Let's keep this conversation going! #NuclearEnergy #ClimateAction #SustainableFuture #WorldClimateSummit
