Fuelling Future Businesses: Empowering Schools with Energy Excellence! 🌟 We’ve recently been working with Mark Education Trust team to assist with their energy savings. Here’s the story… 💭 The Challenge? Mark Education Trust faced difficulties during the transition of a new academy and found themselves being overly charged. 💡 The Solution? To tackle these challenges, we established flexible contracts for greater energy management autonomy, compiled a timeline of council shortcomings, and negotiated reducing charges. A streamlined energy contract and shifting responsibility for previous invoices were also secured and implemented. 📈 The Results? The implemented measures are expected to save Mark Education Trust £350,000. To find out more, head over to our website👉 https://lnkd.in/dNd8XKE #SchoolsEnergySaving #BusinessEnergy #EnergySavings

This review looks at the practical barriers to energy efficiency and low carbon heating measures in historic homes, including the planning barriers, local authority and the construction industry capacity and capability, guidance and information, and affordability and financial incentives.
Pleased to be able to share the review of the barriers to retrofitting historic homes, published today. It has been fantastic to be able to work collaboratively with DLUHC, DCMS and Historic England colleagues to produce this report. https://lnkd.in/efhXziPq

Interesting report. Perhaps extending zero-rate VAT to all decarbonisation of Listed Buildings should be considered

Co-Founder & CEO at Furbnow 🏠| Accelerating home energy efficiency | Top 20 EU Climate Tech Companies | WISE100 2024
36% of homes in the UK were built before 1944 which disproportionately accounts for the 17% of UK carbon emissions from residential heating due to their poor energy performance. We've got our work cut out! The new report outlines the key areas to retrofitting these older homes, including the planning system, lack of supply chain capacity, lack of guidance, lack of finance products and overall incentives. While the report is an excellent deep dive into each area, I was a bit disappointed that one thing in particular wasn't mentioned. **The customer journey** It's just so hard for homeowners to navigate each of these stages and the integration between them is just as much of a problem as each individual aspect outlined in the report. This is what we're championing at Furbnow - help every homeowner to retrofit their home without the hassle. #netzero #retrofit #netzerotransition #customerexperience #homeimprovement

🌿 WE WON ON THE RURAL BOUNDARY! Thank You to Our Speakers and Supporters! 🌿 A heartfelt thank you to all who spoke at this morning’s press conference and this evening’s public hearing on the rural boundary at the Orange County Board of County Commissioners. Special thanks to Representative Tom Keen and Senator-elect Carlos Guillermo Smith for standing with us. We’re thrilled the Board of County Commissioners voted unanimously in favor of the rural boundary! Your voices matter in our fight for smart, responsible growth. 👏🏾 this is Proof that Advocacy Works! 😁 Rural Boundary Talking Points: Current Infrastructure Deficit: $22 billion in existing transportation needs; new roads outside urban areas cost millions. Definition: Separates urban and rural areas, requiring a supermajority vote for developers to increase land density outside urban zones. Examples: Modeled after initiatives in Seminole and Alachua counties. Importance: Prevents urban sprawl and its costly long-term impacts. Protects the environment from flooding, destruction, and pollution. Enhances quality of life by avoiding higher living costs, increased taxes, and overcrowded schools. Stay tuned for educational opportunities on the rural boundary, which will be on the November ballot.
