It's safe to say that medical care is a blessing to people, especially in areas where medical care can be difficult to come by. Equally, those providing medical care as part of missions outreach are also blessed. As this year's Global Missions Health Conference (GMHC) approaches, many medical professionals are preparing to be challenged, encouraged, and in the case of Dr. Amy, looking forward to where God will lead her and her husband next. Her story, and information about this year's GMHC, is available on our blog: https://lnkd.in/d_zZ7aXN

Happy to be a part of this conversation. Non-medical costs can be a significant barrier to patient participation in clinical trials. These costs can occur when no local trials are available and patients must travel to distant trial sites, or when there is a need for more frequent clinic visits for additional trial-related treatment or monitoring. Decentralized clinical trials can help alleviate some of these barriers potentially allowing for a larger and more diverse cohort of trial participants.

Ethos—from the Greek meaning for distinguishing character, guiding values and beliefs of a person, community, or institution. Today, we’re calling on Ethos to harness the importance of virtues and values to improve physician well-being, patient trust and help your organization fulfill its mission and vision. What we know – pervasive system issues including burdensome administrative requirements, inadequate time with patients, excessive workloads, and lack of respect lead to: One in five physicians say they will likely leave their current practice within two years; Forty-seven percent of physicians report multiple symptoms of burnout in 2022—an increase from 42% in 2021; High levels of burnout are identified as a factor threatening patient safety and care quality. What has emerged is what Accordant calls Virtuous Practice, which can only be achieved by a holistic approach to caring for physicians along a continuum and through the cultivation and sustainability of well-being associated with the virtues of gratitude, compassion and kindness.
