The most important thing to me is setting time aside to visit my grandparents in Virginia, and this past week we did just that! What an extremely special time it was as we were there to celebrate my grandpas 86th birthday. He is a remarkable man and his accomplishments throughout his life are worth yelling to the world about. He was a professor at Drake for nearly 30 years and I'm so proud of him for the impact he made on so many students. He was also a part of the water rescue and EMT/medic teams in Illinois, Iowa AND Virginia. I am so lucky to call him my grandfather and I only hope that we have many more years to come with him. ❤️❤️❤️
Oh my gosh the word PROUD does not do my Sunday justice! What a phenomenal time at Fox Valley Saddle Association! Brookelyn has been working so hard on some very green horses the past few years. Now and then. So many things in life change. Most of the time we don't even realize where the time has gone. This morning I sat drinking my coffee and look over to see our dog, Ruger, peacefully lying with Savanna. This is something he has done with her since he was a puppy. He is her protector and she is his comfort. They're both 6 now. This morning was a good reminder to take the time to cherish the small moments. Yes, I usually only post about my children, but they are my whole world so why not? This weekend we were up in Silverwood for a one day event and my, what a busy day it was! Between 7 horses and 5 people riding, there wasn't much down time, but watching my daughter with the last ride of the day was worth every bit of it! If you scroll through my posts you'll see when Charlie arrived to the farm. Fast forward to yesterday, we all got to watch what love, hard work and dedication can create. Brookelyn and Charlie completed their very first show jump round together and they did it effortlessly. We all were so elated for them, even the guys had some teary eyes! We received many compliments on her riding and his classy movements; what a moment to be apart of! From the beach to the ball field, my 9-year-old was the MVP of her game last night! She made the only pop fly out, was 3 for 3 at bat, 2 RBI's and hit a double to wake up the defense (breaking her bat as well 🤣). What a beautiful day it was!
